About the role

The primary responsibility of the role will be to support EU/UK VAT processes such as VAT returns preparation, handling statutory/ internal audit and reporting to internal and external customers. These responsibilities will constitute approximately 80-85 percent of the overall activity profile for this role.

The remaining 15-20 percent of the job commitment will be to act as a Transfer Pricing Cover depending on the business needs of the Tax team. These activities may include support with Transfer Pricing group allocations and documentation, amongst others. No prior Transfer Pricing experience is required as the Transfer Pricing involvement will be limited.

The other key element of the role is interaction with cross-functional teams in FSSC and also dealing with multi-locational /cultural customers across Europe.

Key accountabilities

Core Tasks

  • Prepare/ submit/ support external advisor in submission of VAT returns/compliance for the assigned countries.
  • Carry-out monthly/ quarterly/ annual variance analysis.
  • Handle statutory/ internal audit and support VAT audits.
  • Drive/ support VAT projects.
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
  • Identify and timely escalate potential issues to the Reporting Manager.
  • Support with delivering Transfer Pricing group allocations and documentation, on a limited basis only in the capacity of Transfer Pricing Cover.
  • Support such other projects as may be assigned from time to time.

  • Mind-set of excellent process execution and continuous improvement.
  • Good command of Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Must be inquisitive, open to learning and keen to pursue any opportunity for self-development.
Desirable
  • Newly qualified Chartered Accountant
  • Alternatively, CA with 0-3 years of work experience in Tier 2/3 CA firm/ industry - handling VAT returns (preferably EU/UK VAT returns) and related VAT compliance
  • CA Intermediate
