Summary:



We are seeking a skilled and passionate Tandoor Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating and maintaining a tandoor oven, preparing a variety of authentic tandoori dishes with precision and consistency. You will be responsible for marinating, skewering, and cooking meats, vegetables, and breads to perfection, ensuring high-quality and flavorful results that meet our restaurant's standards.

Responsibilities:



Expertly operate and manage the tandoor oven, ensuring it is at the optimal temperature for cooking. Prepare a variety of tandoori dishes, including but not limited to: tandoori chicken, lamb tikka, paneer tikka, naan, and roti. Marinate meats, poultry, seafood, and vegetables according to established recipes and standards. Skillfully skewer and cook items in the tandoor, ensuring even cooking and desired texture. Monitor cooking times and temperatures to prevent overcooking or undercooking. Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented according to our restaurant's plating guidelines. Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations. Assist in the preparation of ingredients as needed. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service. Monitor inventory levels of tandoor-specific ingredients and communicate needs to the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager. Maintain the tandoor oven in good working condition and report any maintenance issues.

Qualifications:



Proven experience as a Tandoor Cook in a restaurant setting. Thorough knowledge of tandoori cooking techniques and recipes. Ability to handle high-pressure situations and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices. Excellent knife skills. Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately. Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:



Formal culinary training or certification. Experience with different regional variations of tandoori cuisine.
