Job Description

A Tandoor Chef is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of Indian dishes, such as kebabs, tandoori meats, and breads, using a traditional clay tandoor oven. Key duties include preparing marinated ingredients, operating the tandoor to ensure consistent quality and taste, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety, and collaborating with other kitchen staff. Key responsibilities

Food preparation:

Marinate meats, seafood, and vegetables, and prepare dough for tandoori breads like naan.

Cooking:

Operate the tandoor oven to cook dishes to perfection, ensuring consistent quality and taste.

Quality control:

Maintain high standards for food presentation and taste.

Hygiene and safety:

Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures, and keep the kitchen and workstation clean and organized.

Menu and inventory:

May assist with developing new recipes and manage inventory and supplies when necessary.

Team collaboration:

Work with other kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Essential skills and qualifications

Expertise in using a tandoor oven and traditional Indian cooking techniques. Knowledge of various Indian spices and marinades. Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety standards. Good communication and teamwork skills.
