The Team BNY Mellon’s Global Talent and Development team supports the organization with timely and appropriate talent and development offerings and opportunities aligned with business goals and the strategic direction of the organization. This role reports into our Learning and Development area; however, the role will service the needs for all Global Talent and Development. As a Global Talent and Development team member, you can expect to work with a team of individuals who enjoy working together, through their shared passion for excellence. The Role As a Talent and Development Marketing and Communication Specialist, you will plan and execute marketing and communication activities to raise awareness and promote available talent solutions across the organization . You will have the opportunity to help shape marketing and communication strategies for a wide variety of our programs as well as our talent processes. In this role you will:

  • Partner with Talent and Development colleagues and management, Human Resources Business Partners, and other stakeholders to develop and implement marketing and communication plans that speak to our stakeholders in a relevant and compelling manner to promote talent initiatives
  • Provide analysis and understanding of audiences and develop targeted marketing and communication strategies to help build a learning culture by engaging learners, creating enthusiasm, and spotlighting the importance of professional and personal growth
  • Provide guidance to the team on marketing and communication methodologies and delivery techniques including analyses on communication and marketing effectiveness
  • Drive the branding of the Global Talent function through consistent messaging to increase the perceived value of talent and development, including the purpose and priority, and engage the organization in the talent development processes
  • Take end-to-end ownership of all marketing and communications duties for specified talent and development programs and processes, including writing, visual design, branding and promoting the programs, as well as effective collaboration with the corporate marketing and communications team to understand and align approaches
  • Stay informed regarding marketing and communication best practices and future trends, sharing this knowledge with the broader Talent team
What it takes
  • 5+ years of total work experience
  • 3+ years marketing and communications experience
  • Demonstrable proficiency in marketing and promotion of intangible products and services; for example, learning and development
  • Strong knowledge of internal / external communications and marketing strategic practices including the use of social media
  • Ability to think strategically, connect the dots, and create a cohesive message across all media, talent and development / learning methods, technologies, etc.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong English-language writing and editing skills
  • Error-free writing, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, and layout
  • Excellent proofreading ability
  • Experience with Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  • Hands-on experience with written and visual communications
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of MS Word and PowerPoint
  • Solid project management skills
  • Ability to work and achieve results — with minimal supervision — in an intense, fast-paced, global environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in measuring the effectiveness of marketing and communications strategies and approaches
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change and influence a diverse slate of key stakeholders
  • Strong capabilities in strategy creation and execution, data analytics, innovation, impact, growth, and wellbeing
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Global experience is preferred but not required
