The opportunity to join the Operations team for Nasdaq Trade Surveillance (NTS). This technology powers surveillance and compliance for over 170+ market participants across over 200+ markets globally. Scalable to millions of transactions and flexible to manage several unique data sources, NTS holistically examines scenarios across multiple venues and asset classes.

We are currently seeking another high calibre individual to join our team as a Unix/Linux Systems Administrator responsible for administrating our servers and storage, terminals as well as server applications and software.

We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication skills both verbal and written; an ability to handle pressured deadlines; keeping calm and professional under pressure. You should be comfortable working both independently and in a small, global team.

You should have a passion for IT and Devops technical related subjects and use initiative and lateral thinking to solve problems, keeping technical and commercial constraints in balance.

Your role and responsibilities:

As a Systems Administration Senior Specialist, your focus will be Configuring, installing, maintaining, and upgrading server operating systems. You can expect an autonomous but fast-paced work environment where you are recognized for your results and ability to drive things forward. Besides working closely with your colleagues in Bangalore, you will also work closely with Nasdaq teams in other countries.

Under limited supervision, you will participate in:

• The support, configuration, installation, maintenance, and upgrading of computer servers, storage, and software.
• Large-scale OS upgrade
• Incident remediation and problem management
• Periodic on-call support - shared with the team.

• Solution design for internal and external teams
• System monitoring, capacity and performance management, and troubleshooting
• Work on AWS CLOUD infrastructure.

We expect you to have:

• At least 10 years experience in a System Administration role with 5 + years working with large, virtualized environments.
• L2/L3 experience as a Linux Systems Administrator.
• Extensive experience with VMWare (Vsphere/ESX)
• Centos/Redhat or similar; systems administration, deployment, patching & performance tuning
• Network Storage Administration
• Puppet, Chef or other automation tool
• Critical thinking in a high-paced environment
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Degree in Computer Science, or other related field, or equivalent work experience.
• At least one Systems Administration Certification such as Red Hat, AWS, Cisco, etc.

It would be great if you:

• Networking/firewall technologies
• Strong Scripting/programming skills with Perl, Bash or Python
• ITIL
• Jira/Confluence/Git
• AWS (EC2, FSx, Terraform, etc)
• Experience with Open-Source Virtualisation
• Financial Market experience
