Job Description




Oracle Cerner is elated to hire a System Engineer II for our CernerWorks team. As a System Engineer II , you are responsible for all activities and required to deliver multiple project tasks on time. You will be responsible for installations of all environments of Cerner solutions along with the implementation and monitoring of applications and servers. Additionally, you will be responsible for deploying physical and virtual servers, setup and maintain testing environments also will be identifying new enabling technologies and platforms to help solve technical challenges. In this role, as a System Engineer II you will analyze technical issues related to the implementation of new technologies or even the customization of existing technologies for a client to improve performance. Your responsibilities also include, development, functional corrections, automation, orchestration, and observability solutions within CernerWorks and to provide system implementation, support, monitoring and maintenance of Cerner’s solutions and services.

Working Environment


Hybrid & Onsite: No Relocation Assistance Offered This position offers a Hybrid & Onsite working environment. Meaning you will split working time between a Cerner office or client site and remote. Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • At least 6 years total combined related work experience and completed higher education, including:
    • At least 1 year system administration and/or system engineering work experience
    • At least 5 years additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education, including:
      • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of Agile, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Experience with languages such as Ruby, PowerShell, Python, PHP, Bash/KSH, or DSC.
  • Windows Automation: PowerShell or equivalent use of system automation tools will be advantage
  • Experience on Incident management, Change management and Problem management
  • Basic networking knowledge and/or experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Expectations:
  • Willing to work on a rotational 12/7 on-call support
  • Manage changes and project activities, and communicate with impacted stakeholders
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed
  • Develop and deploy automation tools to optimize daily activities
  • Preventing client impact and performance degradation, using power shell scripting, or any automation methods to develop innovative tools to solve operational issues.
