JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for facility performance levels to corporate targets for inventory reduction, increased inventory turns and improved order-to-delivery results. Leads facility efforts to develop and implement the Plan for Every Part, Pull material Replenishment and improved throughput efficiency.

JOB RELATED STATISTICS:
% Facility Parts / Components in PFEP Database - performing 100% to annual corporate target
% Facility Parts on Pull - performing to 100% of annual corporate target for qualified parts
Personnel: Minimum of 5-7 employees
Operations Expense: 500K for department expenses

JOB DUTIES:
Direct Reports include Supply Chain Planning Analysts, Packaging Engineers and NPI Engineers. Responsible for team that is performing work to achieve corporate supply chain performance targets focused on inventory reduction, increased inventory turns and improved order-to-delivery results.

The incumbent coordinates and manages a performance portfolio for multiple, cross functional work teams deploying the Supply Chain Planning Process, which develops the Plan for Every Part and Pull Replenishment methods for a facility.

Incumbent is required to work and communicate effectively with diverse, multi-functional teams in order to apply the supply chain planning process and lead team efforts to develop lean material flow plans for a facility, which may include implementing changes to factory floor layout and material presentation at the point of use.

Incumbent is required to take a facility-wide view of supply chain planning processes and tools, as well as thorough knowledge of pull material strategies and their application, in order to coordinate the efforts of multiple teams across functions and divisions.

Incumbent leads team efforts to gather and analyze data on facility demand and demand variability for each part required for production based on daily demand buckets for 120 work days. This role leads team efforts to gather and analyzes data about supplier shipping performance and variability % for each part number (both Time and Qty) This position leads team efforts to develop material flow plans for all material coming into a facility for production. Incumbent uses part plan data from the Plan for Every Part web tool to drive flow and velocity improvements in the plant. This position leads the work of Supply Chain Planning Analysts in the documentation of this data into the Plan for Every Part web tool.

The incumbent supports facility efforts to implement pull material replenishment where appropriate by leading pull deployment teams. This work requires knowledge of complex lean concepts and tools. The incumbent must be able to lead work teams consisting of members from multiple functions, driving collaboration and communication across facility divisions, including site Global Purchasing, IT Support personnel, factory floor personnel, Global Transportation, Logistics and Operations.

This position supports facility efforts and leads teams to design and implement material packaging and containerization solutions for a facility. This role may work collaboratively with external and internal suppliers, Supply Chain Performance Engineers, and Operations.

This position supports facility efforts and leads teams to ensure NPI and Engineering / Change Control process conformance. This role requires cross-functional work team leadership skills and communication.

This position leads cross-functional teams to achieve MQ or other similar facility certifications. Works with diverse, multi-functional work teams to drive improvements required to meet certification requirements.

This position leads cross-functional teams to identify and resolve supply chain constraints, which requires leading teams to deploy solutions using root cause corrective action.

Moderate Travel Required (25% - 50% working time)

POSITION IMPACTS: Incumbent is responsible to achieve corporate supply chain performance targets, including improvements in Order-to-Delivery time, inventory levels / turns, MQ Certification requirements and supply chain assessments for a facility.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience and knowledge of lean concepts and tools.
  • Experience and knowledge of CPS and lean supply chain principles, specifically those applied to pull replenishment using material replenishment tools and processes, material flow, packaging and containerization, the corporate NPI process, facility product and engineering change control processes and throughput efficiency
  • Strong understanding and previous experience using common supply chain systems, and the ability to coordinate facility efforts with large-scale IT transformations.
  • Knowledge of and / or experience deploying using 6Sigma Project Management principles.
  • Must possess excellent leadership skills to effectively lead supply chain improvements making the best use of available resources, while maintaining strong people focus and fulfilling the responsibilities for leading people.
  • Must possess extremely strong collaborative, interpersonal and negotiation skills in order to drive common supply chain processes across multiple departments within a business division.
  • Must have advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to creatively solve very complex problems.
  • Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures and solid product knowledge
  • Must be able to design and deploy lean systems in a highly productive environment with minimal disruption to daily requirements
  • Qualification as a CPS Support Team Leader
  • Completion of required corporate leadership training
  • CPS Functional Job Role Qualified
  • APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification highly desired.
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:
  • College or university degree related to Supply Chain is required.
  • Experience with the CPS RIW and Value Stream Transformation process
  • Minimum of ten years of progressively responsible supply chain job experience
  • Previous experience as a Supply Chain Planning Engineer desired
  • Experience in the development and deployment of Supply Chain processes
A background in Supply Chain, Manufacturing / Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Inventory Management, Material Requirements Planning, Demand Management and/or Logistics is highly desired.
