Overall, effective Supplier Performance Manager \xe2\x80\x93 Supplier Management in Digital Technology requires a broad range of skills and knowledge, including technical expertise, risk management skills, contract management skills, relationship management skills, data analysis skills, communication skills, and industry knowledge. To effectively manage supplier risk in Digital Technology, it is essential to have a strong understanding of the Digital Technology landscape, including hardware, software, networks, and cloud services.

The Supplier Risk Manager role will be responsible for managing vendor relationships and vendor risks as defined by Digital Technology. This role will manage and ensure vendors meet performance expectations, operational standards, and meet budget targets. To be successful in this role, one must be detail-oriented and adept at multitasking effectively as well as demonstrate exceptional analytical, problem-solving, negotiating and decision-making skills.

• Responsible for conducting comprehensive risk assessments of existing and potential vendors and evaluating their operational stability, financial, compliance with regulatory requirements, and overall risk profile.
• Analyzes and monitors vendor performance and financial health indicators on an ongoing basis, identifying any potential risks or red flags. Audits and manages vendor expenses ensuring budget targets are met.
• Partners and collaborates with cross functional teams including applications owners, global procurement, finance, legal to develop mitigation strategies, manage contracts terms, and ensure adherence to United\xe2\x80\x99s policies, standards and procedures
• Actively participates and/or leads vendor management program improvements to ensure robust vendor risk management framework, assessment methodologies, scoring models and reporting mechanisms
• Communicates with vendors to address concerns or inquiries related to risk assessment and mitigation. Research, analyze, and maintain data, information and content used in making business decisions. Prepare data and present findings and articulate results. Evaluate complex data and make informed decisions.
• Stays abreast of industry trends and/or events impacting Digital Technology vendors to avoid and/or minimize downstream negative effects to United Airlines

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99 s Degree
• Information Technology or Business or equivalent experience, education, or training
• 5 or more years IT and/or business experience, or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• In-depth knowledge of risk management principles, supplier assessment methodologies, and regulatory compliance
• Proficiency in using risk management tools and software
• Communication Skills- The ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and management, capable of successful formal and informal communication, speaks and writes clearly and understandably at the right level.
