STRUCTURAL DESIGN ENGINEER - Qualifications and Skills

? Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering. A Master's degree

may be preferred depending on employer.

?

Approximately 8-10 years

of progressive experience in structural design and

analysis -- preferably covering a variety of project types (residential, commercial,

industrial or infrastructure).

? Experience in STAAD PRO and Autocad is Mandatory

? Strong proficiency in structural analysis/design software (for example: ETABS,

SAP2000, STAAD. Pro, or equivalent), and drafting tools such as AutoCAD / Revit /

BIM tools depending on company practice.

? Thorough knowledge of relevant building codes / standards (e.g. design codes,

safety standards, material standards, seismic/wind codes) -- especially important in

regions like India where local code compliance is critical.

? Strong analytical and structural mechanics understanding: ability to evaluate loads,

stresses, load paths, foundation design, and ensure structural stability and integrity.

? Good coordination and communication skills -- able to work with multidisciplinary

teams (architects, MEP engineers, contractors), to present design ideas, explain

technical aspects, and liaise with stakeholders.

? Project management aptitude -- capable of aligning design deliverables with project

schedules and budgets, managing resources, tracking deliverables, and ensuring

timely completion.

? Leadership and mentoring capability -- able to guide junior staff, review work, ensure

quality and compliance.
