Job Summary
The Stores Cum Purchase Manager is responsible for managing the organization's inventory, stores operations, and procurement activities. This role ensures timely availability of materials, cost-effective purchasing, proper storage, inventory control, and coordination with vendors and internal departments to support uninterrupted operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesStores & Inventory Management
Plan, organize, and control all store operations, including receipt, storage, and issuance of materials.
Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess stock.
Ensure accurate inventory records, stock reconciliation, and periodic physical verification.
Implement inventory control systems (FIFO/FEFO/ABC analysis).
Ensure proper handling, storage, and preservation of materials.
Maintain store safety, cleanliness, and compliance with company policies.
Purchase & Procurement Management
Plan and execute purchase activities for raw materials, consumables, spares, and services.
Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors.
Obtain quotations, negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
Issue purchase orders and ensure timely follow-up for deliveries.
Ensure procurement is aligned with budget and cost-control objectives.
Handle vendor performance evaluation and dispute resolution.
Coordination & Compliance
Coordinate with production, maintenance, finance, and quality departments.
Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and audit standards.
Prepare and maintain purchase and stores documentation.
Support internal and external audits related to inventory and procurement.
Reporting & MIS
Prepare regular reports on inventory levels, consumption, purchases, and cost analysis.
Monitor slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete inventory.
Provide data and insights for management decision-making.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Engineering, or a related field.
5-10 years of experience in stores and purchase management (industry-specific experience preferred).
Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and procurement processes.
Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
