The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the canteen store, ensuring efficient inventory management, timely procurement, quality control, and smooth supply of goods. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage stock levels while minimizing wastage and costs.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Inventory & Stock Management
Maintain accurate stock levels of raw materials, packaged items, and consumables.
Regularly monitor stock movement and prevent shortages or overstocking.
Conduct periodic stock audits and reconcile discrepancies.
Procurement & Vendor Coordination
Source and purchase items as per canteen requirements.
Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers/vendors.
Negotiate prices to ensure cost-effective purchasing without compromising quality.
Quality & Hygiene Control
Ensure all goods received meet quality standards and expiry norms.
Monitor proper storage conditions (temperature, hygiene, safety).
Enforce FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) methods.
Financial & Record Keeping
Maintain accurate purchase, stock, and issue records.
Assist in budget preparation and cost control.
Submit timely reports on stock status, wastage, and usage.
Team & Operations Support
Coordinate with kitchen and service staff for timely supply of ingredients and items.
Train store assistants/helpers on stock handling and hygiene practices.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and food safety regulations.
Skills & Competencies Required:
Strong knowledge of inventory and store management.
Good negotiation and vendor management skills.
Proficiency in MS Excel / stock management software.
Attention to detail and organizational skills.
Leadership and team management abilities.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
Graduate in Commerce/Business Administration or equivalent (preferred).
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in store/warehouse management (preferably in F&B or hospitality sector).
Familiarity with stock auditing and procurement processes.
