Maintain accurate records of stock levels (raw materials, consumables, spare parts, finished goods).
Perform regular stock audits and cycle counts.
Ensure stock levels are adequate to support production schedules without overstocking.
2. Receiving and Inspection
Verify quantity and quality of incoming materials as per purchase order/specifications.
Coordinate with quality control for inspection and approval.
Ensure proper documentation (GRN - Goods Receipt Note, invoices, delivery challans).
3. Material Issuance
Issue materials to production or maintenance departments against proper requisitions.
Record and track material movement (FIFO/FEFO where applicable).
Maintain accountability for materials issued.
4. Stock Replenishment
Monitor re-order levels and initiate purchase requisitions.
Coordinate with the purchase department to avoid stockouts.
Forecast demand in coordination with production planning.
5. Documentation and ERP/System Updates
Ensure timely and accurate data entry in ERP or inventory management systems.
Maintain physical and digital records of stock movement, purchase receipts, and issue slips.
6. Space and Storage Management
Organize storage space for easy access and efficient material handling.
Ensure proper labeling, binning, and categorization of materials.
Follow safety, cleanliness, and 5S principles in the store.
7. Coordination and Communication
Liaise with Production, Purchase, Quality, and Accounts departments.
Provide regular stock reports to management.
Support internal/external audits.
8. Compliance and Safety
Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements (especially for hazardous or regulated materials).
Adhere to safety protocols in material handling and storage.
Train store staff on procedures and safety norms.
