Inventory management: Storekeepers are responsible for maintaining inventory records, including receiving, storing, and tracking supplies. They also perform physical inventory counts and audits to ensure accuracy.
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and equipment as per purchase orders
Maintain accurate stock registers, issue slips, and delivery records
Organize materials in the store and at project sites as per safety norms
Monitor stock levels and prepare purchase requirements in advance
Handle inward and outward material movements with proper documentation.
Ordering and purchasing: Storekeepers may select suppliers, place purchase orders, and prepare specifications for materials and products.
Working with inventory management software to track inventory material.
Determining the safety stock levels to reduce the risk of stock outs during unusual periods of supply and demand.
Accountancy -maintaining general accounts .
