Job Description

Position: Stock Audit Officer - Internal Evaluation
Industry: Logistics/Container Freight Station (CFS)
Experience Required: 3-5 years in stock auditing, inventory control, or internal evaluation roles.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Verification and Management:

  • Conduct physical stock audits for warehouse inventory, yard materials, project cargo, reach stacker parts, trailer parts, and tires.
  • Verify inventory records against physical counts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Implement and oversee perpetual inventory systems for continuous tracking.
  • Identify discrepancies in stock levels, investigate root causes, and propose corrective actions.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
  • Develop and enforce robust internal controls to prevent theft, loss, and misuse of inventory.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory standards in stock management.
  • Monitor inventory movement, including inbound, outbound, and on-hand stock, across warehouses and yards.
  • Evaluate current processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Stock Evaluation and Reporting:
  • Tag and label all inventory accurately, ensuring proper documentation and traceability.
  • Prepare detailed stock audit reports, including discrepancies, valuation, and actionable insights.
  • Maintain records of high-value items and spare parts for operational and financial planning.
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews of inventory management systems.
Project Cargo and Specialized Inventory:
  • Oversee the stock management of specialized project cargo, ensuring proper handling and storage protocols.
  • Manage spare parts for heavy machinery such as reach stackers and trailers, ensuring availability and timely procurement.
  • Track wear-and-tear items like tires and recommend reordering schedules based on usage patterns.
Data Analytics and System Optimization:
  • Utilize inventory management software for real-time tracking and analytics.
  • Generate actionable insights through trend analysis, including slow-moving, fast-moving, and obsolete items.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure software systems are updated and aligned with business needs.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of stock auditing processes and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and reporting tools.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of warehouse and yard operations in logistics and CFS sectors.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
