A steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, organization, and supporting operations in a hospitality setting, such as a restaurant, hotel, or cruise ship. Key duties include cleaning and sanitizing dishes, equipment, and dining areas; restocking supplies; setting and clearing tables; and assisting servers and kitchen staff to ensure a smooth operation and a positive guest experience. A steward might also assist with customer service tasks and some administrative duties.
