Job Description

A steward's job description focuses on maintaining cleanliness, supporting kitchen and service operations, and ensuring a pleasant guest experience. Key responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing dishes and equipment, managing inventory, assisting with food and drink preparation, setting up and breaking down event spaces, and enforcing hygiene and safety standards. Stewards also provide customer service, such as answering calls, taking reservations, assisting guests, and stocking supplies. Common Responsibilities

Sanitation and Cleanliness:

Washing dishes, utensils, and equipment; keeping kitchen and dining areas clean and organized.

Inventory Management:

Monitoring stock levels, ensuring proper storage and labeling of supplies, and assisting with unloading deliveries.

Food and Beverage Support:

Assisting kitchen staff with simple food preparation tasks and ensuring a clean and well-stocked bar.

Guest and Event Support:

Setting tables, cleaning up after events, and assisting with setting up event spaces.

Hygiene and Safety:

Adhering to health and safety standards, including proper waste disposal and recycling.

Customer Service:

Greeting guests, answering phones, taking reservations, providing information, and addressing customer needs.

Operational Support:

Maintaining workstation cleanliness, coordinating with other departments, and performing other assigned tasks.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Physical Ability:

Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects, stand for long periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.

Organizational Skills:

Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment and manage inventory effectively.

Teamwork:
