Job Description


  • Day-to-day coordination with state stakeholders.
  • Arranging formal visits and meetings between state stakeholders and SAREP.
  • Providing state specific technical, economic and political guidance to SAREP.
  • Participating in developing technical solutions to the state specific problems and challenges in implementation of the SAREP program in the state
  • Supporting SAREP in organizing state specific workshop(s) and later scaling activities.
  • Supporting SAREP in developing state specific documentation.
  • Day to day monitoring of the progress of SAREP activities in the state and reporting to SAREP on weekly basis.
  • Collecting data and information from state stakeholders and sending to SAREP in Delhi and other places in a timely manner
  • Ensure smooth information flow and communication with the SAREP Leadership Team (LT) and between SAREP and respective state interventions.
  • Ensure local ownership, capacity building, and appropriate state -level activity design; supported by specialized SAREP experts.
  • Coordinate state-level activities and make informed, rapid decisions aligned with the LT’s vision.
  • Contribute to the development of technically sound and contextually relevant work plans, offering insight on feasibility, recommendations for innovative partnerships, and updates on state priorities.
  • Assist relevant ministries, departments, and regulatory agencies to improve financial and operational performance through provision of technical services.
  • Coordinate with DCOP and Objective Leads on technical tasks and deliverables in each of the states.
  • Support reporting for M&E, contribute to state-level work planning and other deliverables and communication products for state-level activities.
  • Support gender mainstreaming for state-level activities.
  • Assist with technical and managerial implementation of subcontracts at the state level.
  • Build and maintain state-level project networks within the government, private sector, , and other stakeholders.
  • Respond to all requests to support program management and administration requirements at the state level.
  • Work collaboratively with Objective Leads, Technical and Operational staff, and other State Coordinators.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or related field and 8 years of experience; Master's degree and 6 years of experience.
  • 5 years’ experience in coordinating technical and organizational energy programs in the state of Karnataka.
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining a network among the utility, regulators, and private sector partners to influence change in the energy sector.
  • Demonstrated technical energy experience in one or more of the following key topic areas: utility turnaround, energy efficiency, renewable energy, smart meters, electric vehicles, .
  • Understanding of cross-cutting issues including environment, gender equity, and social inclusion and their overlap with the energy sector.
  • Experience coordinating activities, workshops, and trainings.
  • Experience with project-based reporting systems.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, and with multiple concurrent demands.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel and work in any of the location within the state and difficult terrain/conditions at times.
  • Professional proficiency in English is required. Local language skills (Kannada) are also required.
Location: Bangalore or any other city in Karnataka as may be mutually agreed
