Department of Physics, School of Natural Sciences, Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence (Deemed to be University), Delhi NCR (Shiv Nadar IoE) invites applications from bright and motivated individuals for the position of Scientific Officer. The Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence strongly supports the national imperative for increasing female representation in STEM, and accordingly female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply for this position. Roles & Responsibilities:
1) Operation and maintenance of thin film deposition systems
2) Operation and maintenance of various instruments like XRD, AFM, Ellipsometry, PPMS, etc.
3) Operation of electrical and thermal transport measurement systems
4) To give training to the students in the department for the smooth operation of the instruments.
5) To run the practical classes in the Advanced Physics Laboratories whenever required. Qualification: Ph.D. in Physics with first class and/or equivalent grade in the preceding degree. Skills (mandatory):
1. Handling and operation of the thin film deposition and characterization systems.
2. Should have the confidence to run different instruments and their maintenance.
3. Should have used multiple programs to interface laboratory instruments for autonomous
data collecting and control. Skills (desired but optional):
1. Demonstrated research capability.
2. Training to students.
