Job Summary: Location- Bangalore/Gurgaon/Mumbai Job Summary: We are looking for a staff product manager who will lead the product development and strategy to build an industry leading video streaming experience across devices. About the team At Disney+Hotstar, the Video team is at the core of what D+H does. It is responsible for streaming content from all over the world to the D+H users. We define the playback experience from the largest of screens to the tiniest devices. We also build systems responsible for orchestrating and delivering Live events to millions of users across the world. Video team works to define the end-user experiences while playing back video, which includes marquee features like 4K, HDR, Atmos and accessibility features to help diverse groups enjoy our content. They dive deep into video encoding algorithms and build the pipeline responsible for the entire transformation system. Reporting to : Principal Group Product Manager Key Responsibilities You will lead global product strategy, roadmap, and define measurements of success for the video player platform across mobile, web, and connected device integrations You will collaborate with cross-functional business & technology stakeholders to develop a best-in-class video experience You will envision feature sets for the ultimate viewing experience of Live and VOD content, enhanced player capabilities, and overall Quality of Experience (QoE) You will translate complex problems into compelling features and functionality that drive consumption, competitive advantage and business results You will prioritize feature delivery through roadmaps: balancing commercial feasibility, customer impact and technical complexity Skill & Attributes for Success Experience in building products on Web, Mobile, Smart TV, or Game ConsolesStreaming video experience across platforms utilizing player integrations (like Shaka, ExoPlayer, AV player) Familiarity with streaming video DRM, video formats, encoding and delivery methods Familiarity with video codecs, transcoding and transmuxing across platforms Familiarity with CDNs, Cloud Infrastructure Strategic Thinking: You can put a product vision & multi-year strategy that everyone can rally behind Execution: You can break down strategy into well prioritized quarterly roadmaps & demonstrate execution excellence Data backed decisions: You can ask the right questions & use data to make decisions Platform Thinking: You can determine the required structures, components, technologies to co-create value Technical Proficiency: You can participate with engineering teams to influence design & architecture Preferred Education & Experience Minimum 7-10 years of experience with at least 4-5 years of experience in product management. Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Masters is preferred.
