IAG (Internal Audit Group) is a worldwide function with 200+ team members and offices across nine countries within American Express. We are committed to growing our audit staff significantly as we continue to expand and enhance the Internal Audit Group. Our assurance and risk professionals have diverse backgrounds including internal controls, consumer compliance, technology, operational risk, financial accounting, data analytics, and banking operations. Most IAG team members hold at least one professional certification. Our audit teams align to key risk areas and business units to ensure IAG can provide comprehensive and risk-based audit coverage. In addition, IAG has a Professional Practices group responsible for managing audit operations, quality, and standards; regulatory relations; reporting; training and professional development; and key internal capabilities and technologies. The successful candidate will work within and support IAG’s Global Merchant Services Network (GMNS) team. Comprised of key internal and external servicing functions, GMNS manages all aspects of the Amex network, and Amex merchant strategy, operations, aquisition, etc. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist team leaders, snr/managers, and senior auditors in accomplishing audit objectives in a team environment
  • Participate as a key team member on audit projects
  • Understands, identifies, evaluates and documents key risks and controls.
  • Document processes under review
  • Demonstrates a solid knowledge of audit and proper application of sampling techniques
  • Works with managers /team leaders to develop audit test steps and can assume responsibility for key process areas of moderate complexity
  • Execute audit tests competently in accordance with policies and procedures, and with moderate supervision
  • Summarize and communicate results
  • Develop recommendations to close identified control gaps
  • Proficient use of automated work papers and other department and company tools
  • Maintain internal audit competency through ongoing professional development
  • 1-4 years of experience in the banking industry within a public accounting, finance and/or internal audit function.
  • BA or BS in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
  • Professional certification (CIA, CISA, CPA, or equivalent) highly preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in application of control theory and professional auditing practices
  • Ability to think analytically, communicate complex issues, and develop control recommendations
  • Effective written and verbal communication; ability to present control analysis and recommendations with clarity and professionalism
  • Demonstrated track record of integrity, effective communication, innovation, and excellence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook) and eGRC Archer highly preferred
  • Experience working in teams
  • Proficiency English communication skills, verbal & written
