Staff Applications Engineer

Job Description

Infineon's IoT Compute & Wireless (ICW) business line is looking for a Staff Applications Engineer to work on the whole product development for its microcontroller products. The primary functions of the Staff Applications Engineer is to architect systems - hardware, firmware, and software and get them from requirements phase to the final product shape in the IoT domain involving Infineon's MCUs and Wi-Fi & Bluetooth/BLE connectivity devices.

1) Be part of a team to define and architect next generation microcontroller devices
2) Work cross-functionally with marketing, software, customers, and design teams to create suitable product solutions
3) Define and execute on whole product plan for Infineon microcontroller products
4) Create power-optimized IoT applications by doing performance and power consumption analysis
5) Analyse and provide feedback to other engineering teams on improving the user experience
6) Develop demos and complete reference designs
7) Create technical collateral such as datasheets, reference manuals, application notes, and guides
8) Author technical articles and white papers to showcase Infineon products and technologies
9) Evaluate new applications and market segments for Embedded systems and perform competitor product tear-downs
10) Train Infineon sales & marketing and customers on new products and solutions

1) B.E/B.Tech in Electronics. M.Tech is preferred.
2) 3 to 12 years of technical experience in embedded application development, system design, board debug/bring-up required
3) Must have hands-on experience with various microcontroller architectures and toolchains
4) Ability to work with hardware design team for driving board designs
5) Good understanding of interfacing various analog and digital peripherals with microcontrollers
6) Sound knowledge of C programming and RTOS
7) Exposure to ARM internals would be good
8) Exposure to wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Bluetooth would be a plus
9) Knowledge of industry standard protocols and interfaces (I2C, UART, QSPI, SDIO, USB etc) and exposure to emerging standards and technologies
10) Expertise on specific sub-system topics such as graphics, analog interfacing, motor control etc would be good
11) Good communication skills and must be a team player to work across cross-functional projects across time-zones and locations
12) Should be a roll-up-the sleeves, trouble-shooter with ability to multi-task.
