Master Data Management (MDM) Program - Technical Product Owner

We are recruiting for a (MDM) Technical Product Owner (PG 40-41) to join our Program Team and help us push forward our data and digital-first vision. Primary location for the role is Bangalore, India GCC; secondary: Skillman, US; tertiary location is Prague, Czech Republic. The role will work closely with the VP, MDMP Program Lead.

What will you do

Our aim at Kenvue is to design and implement our MDM platform as a central data hub that ensures data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility while staying in sync with security and governance standards, thereby supporting informed decision-making and efficient business operations. The aim is to deliver a global design through agile steps keeping execution in mind with focus on delivering value & impact.

As a trusted leader in the Master Data Management Platform Program Team, this role will be uniquely positioned to work multi-functionally with strategic functional business, data and technology leads, OneS4 Program Teams and executives across the business and technology to passionately understand our master data needs, define & operationalize our global Master Data Management & Governance data model, data processes and data operations approach to drive data excellence across all functions and regions and enable outcomes that matter in our local markets.

This role is critical in ensuring the effective management and governance of MDM, driving standardization, and enabling digital transformation across the organization. The candidate will bring a combination of outstanding technical expertise, critical thinking, and leadership skills to the role, ensuring the successful implementation and ongoing management of MDM technology and supporting practices.

As a strategic problem solver, technologist, and an expert in designing and building data products, this role will empower our business partners through the management and delivery of high-value data products and that will be foundational in achieving our digital-first ambitions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and standardization of global MDM Technology related strategies and policies, ensuring alignment with S/4 HANA capabilities and other non-SAP systems / environments.
  • Approve and document changes to the global template, participating actively in change control and governance boards.
  • Ensure the integration and effective deployment of key MDM processes within project timelines and scope.
  • Maintain the integrity of the global MDM template, balancing between customizations and standard MDM functionalities.
  • Collaborate with business adoption teams to ensure comprehensive organizational change and training for MDM practices.
  • Leverage previous experiences in ERP implementations to drive innovative solutions in MDM, particularly in Supply Chain contexts.
  • Strategize and implement plans for developing and scaling MDM capabilities to enhance digital transformation within the business.
  • Implement process design interdependencies across various deployments, establishing controls and mitigating risks.
  • Prioritize and lead MDM feature development based on business priorities and capacity.
  • Be responsible for development estimates and prioritize requirements based on effort and business impact.
  • Develop a clear, long-term strategy for MDM evolution, aligning with the broader business goals.
  • Report on the progress of MDM feature delivery and effectiveness to customers and leadership.
  • Foster an inclusive work environment, encouraging diversity and professional growth in the MDM team.
  • Break down silos and build strong relationships multi-functionally in support of execution of MDM initiatives.
  • Own all master data management processes in S/4 from a technical point of view, covering all data scenarios.
  • Oversee the conversion, construction, and migration of master data to SAP / non-SAP systems.
  • Demonstrate deep technical understanding of data model differences between ECC / S/4 HANA /other non-SAP systems and related MDM implications.
Skills & Qualifications
  • A minimum of a bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in SAP MDG, MDM Technologies such as MDG, Informatica and SAP ERP solutions with a consistent track record in successful MDM implementations.
  • Extense experience with MDM Platform technology implementation full lifecycle. Practitioner knowledge of standard methodologies and common pitfalls to avoid.
  • Understand the overall landscape of the Enterprise to focus and lead the teams.
  • Solid understanding of technical architectures, data models including S/4 HANA and related data management technologies. Extensive knowledge of MDM processes and configurations, especially in S/4 HANA environments.
  • Familiarity with JIRA and Agile methodologies preferred.
  • Solid understanding of Supply Chain, Finance and Commercial processes and the unique data management challenges in this domain.
  • Experience in designing and managing technology processes in global organizations, with a focus on data governance.
  • Knowledge of cloud solutions and the future roadmap of SAPs cloud support is advantageous.
  • Demonstrable Experience designing, managing & cleaning Master Data, including data models, flows & systems with proven Consumer Health process and data expertise.
  • Project management experience: SDLC, risk / issue management, cost management, supplier management
  • Strong leadership experience to inspire and motivate teams; to lead without reporting authority and to achieve outcomes in a complex environment - leading through influence and deep collaboration across the franchise and enterprise.
  • Execution driven and focused on driving timely decision making, with confirmed track on delivering programs on time, budget and quality.
  • Experience in leading and governing multi-functional teams in a global setting.
  • Proven track record in people management and fostering team growth.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills in complex business & technology scenarios.
  • Critical communication & negotiation skills with internal & external collaborators, capable of working effectively with diverse teams and customers.
  • Curious, data-driven, and open to experimentation and risk-taking.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with a passion for continuous learning and excellence.
  • Ability to synthesize immediate business needs and work towards an optimized technology design.
  • The ability to handle ambiguity and shape new initiatives independently.
