Your Career

Palo Alto Networks is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Sr. Technical Project Manager to join our exciting, fast growing company. This dynamic individual will have hands-on experience managing complex Engineering programs from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have strong fundamental knowledge of system software, release management, cross-functional program leadership, and interpersonal skills. You are a natural leader, inquisitive, a keen problem solver, and an excellent stakeholder manager.

Your Impact

• Lead and own full program life cycle from initiation to deployment in the Cybersecurity space. Develop and manage complex multi-functional program schedules, identify risks, manage scope and resource changes and monitor progress against plan.
• Highly experiences managing hardware programs from inception to delivery - including partnering with HW, SW Engineering teams, Product Management and Ops.
• Experience managing both ODM and JDM programs.
• Comfortable interpreting data to translate and present as business insights.
• Define, generate and assess metrics and key performance indicators for the program. Provide all necessary data to support critical decision-making through fact-based analysis.
• Your role is people, data and communications intensive; it requires excellent leadership, critical thinking, independence, organizational excellence, data analysis, presentation and communication skills.

Proactively establish practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships that impact the whole organization. * Proven track-record demonstrating leadership in projects and influencing key stakeholders through strong technical proficiency.

• Participate and facilitate teams working through technical challenges and decisions. Experience contributing to design/ architecture discussions and test strategies is a plus.
• Proven experience driving Quality Initiatives with good understanding of underlying metrics.
• Past experience in a Development/Test Engineering role is a plus.
• Provide clear, concise, transparent, and insightful status reporting to the team, executives, and a diverse set of stakeholders
• Work independently to design, plan, and execute technical projects; distill data and articulate rationale for making difficult trade-offs.
• Create a collaborative work environment that fosters autonomy, transparency, mastery, innovation and learning
• Understand the systems in your program space, the limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions, and reasons behind architectural decisions.

Qualifications

Your Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.

A minimum of 6 years relevant experience in managing programs in the Hardware/Networking/Data Security/Operating Systems product landscape.

Knowledge and working experience on Enterprise Agile processes and tools (such as Jira Portfolio or Jira Structure), Confluence, and other Atlassian suite of products

Experience building dashboards that are consumed by all levels of the organization from the executive level down to the engineer level

Comfortable hosting senior level leaders (SVP/VP) meetings and providing status/program updates

Experience working with engineering teams on defining projects, collecting requirements, writing detailed functional and test specifications, coordinating efforts to scope, schedule and deploy new features sets

Deep understanding of software development lifecycle

Understands and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; remains flexible and calm in the face of uncertainty

Proficient with applications, tools, and methodologies used to organize, manage, report progress, and deliver programs and projects

Cybersecurity industry experience is a plus.
