About you and this role

DOW Chemical, a global leader in the chemical industry, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Static Equipment Engineer Lead to join our team in India.
Provides specialized technical support and solutions for project teams, operations, and maintenance. The Hardware Disciplines within Engineering and Maintenance are comprised of the following disciplines: Buildings, Civil, Electrical, Instrument, Materials, Mechanical, Process Containment Equipment and Piping. Hardware Disciplines support both projects and technical support teams as a technical expert recognized as a \xe2\x80\x9cgo to\xe2\x80\x9d person within their site/region for their area of expertise, or as discipline lead on projects. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience and works independently, receiving minimal guidance. The technical expert capacity, at this level, is primarily involved in the application of technology. Resolves problems that are complex. Leads technical problem-solving within a specific technology area to deliver value for Dow.
Participates in global teams to continuously improve the most effective technology (MET) and best practices. In the project lead capacity, has an excellent understanding and applies GPM, MET, their discipline work process, and associated best practices to deliver safe, cost-effective, and efficient solutions that meet the business opportunity plan for both intermediate and large projects.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and implement \xe2\x80\x9cSafety in Design\xe2\x80\x9d and \xe2\x80\x9cProcess Safety\xe2\x80\x9d concepts. Well Experienced in Design & Detailed Engineering of various Static Equipment like Pressure Vessels, Columns/Towers, Storage Tanks, Silos, Reactors, S&T Heat Exchangers and Filters etc. for Petrochemicals and Refineries.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (Written and Verbal) is a must. Frequent communications expected with Equipment Suppliers / Vendors, inter-discipline team members and other engineering centers. Essentially a team player with flexibility and agility.
  • Detailed exposure to international codes/standards such as ASME Sec VIII
  • Div 1 & 2, ASME SEC II, ASTM, API 650, API 620 and TEMA.
  • Familiar in designing static equipment using international software such as PVelite., Compress, B-Jac and E-tank etc.


Qualifications
  • Bachelors / Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Mechanical Engineering;
  • Experience preferably 10 to 15 years in a Petrochemical and Oil & Gas and EPCs, Owner Operated Companies and Engineers Supporting Manufacturing Units.
  • Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards related to static equipment design and maintenance.
  • Experience in project management and leading a team of engineers.


Preferred Skills
  • Experience in the chemical or manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with electrical safety regulations, such as NFPA 70E and IEC standards.
  • Should be qualified from CEIG approved "C" certificate license holder
    Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Exposure to Instrumentation and DCS environment in a chemical plant will be preferred.
