52 billion healthcare giant Novartis AG, headquartered in Basel (Switzerland), incorporated as a company in 2001 with the vision to centralize and harmonize all similar processes from all the 140+ countries and region offices that Novartis AG operates in across all its divisions.

He / She will be responsible for global coordination of the IFRS 16 process. She/he will own the Lease Management System (LMS), which is used by Novartis worldwide. She/he will be responsible to maintain the Real Estate lease in the LMS system. The purpose is to properly report the lease assets and liabilities and income statements in accordance to IFRS 16.

Your responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Oversee IFRS 16 process and be the SPOC for questions around the process. Maintain Finance Core process, Global work instruction and training in Finance Core
• Conduct calls/webinar with the community, as required. Enter and maintain data for the Real Estate leases in the LMS system
• Review accounting entries calculated by the LMS system for specific lease transactions. Align with other department such as IT and Technical Accounting
• Extracting global Planon report on demand of Group FRA. Monitoring month end closing for IFRS16. Upload global fleet data in Planon. Perform monthly/quarterly global fleet reconciliations
• Upload of discount rates in LMS system. Perform testing of the upgrades done in the system
• Support IT SOX audit. Own the Lease Management System (LMS) and be control owner for NFCM global controls
• No unsatisfactory audit rating and timely execution of action plans. Number of business special processes standardized/deliver business benefits and productivity improvements as per target
• Customer satisfaction of service delivery and process specific KPIs in accordance with agreed SLAs

Minimum requirements

What you'll bring to the role:

• Chartered Accountant / CPA
• 10-12 years of financial experience, with good functional expertise
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-national organization. Excellent technical accounting expertise
• Extensive experience in IFRS16 accounting. SAP knowledge is preferred
• Experience in managing projects driving performance improvements. Good interpersonal skills
