The Role Reporting to the Network Manager, the Security Engineer is seen as a technical expert in networking security. This is a technical and hands on role, with a primary focus on design and implementation of network security change; although you will be expected to support the network security operations team with complex troubleshooting of issues as required. You will have experience of workingin high impact, mission critical environments where service matters and exceeding expectations is the norm. Key responsibilities The Security Engineer\'s primary areas of responsibility include ensuring there are defined standards in place, manage the technical lifecycle of products and services and deliver change/transformation against created designs; always ensuring a smooth transition/handover to Network Operations. \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for defining and documenting Network Security Standards \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for the creation of Low Level Design documents to meet requirements outlined in the High Level Design \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for the creation of detailed Implementation Plans for all engineering related activity \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for Procurement activities relating to build and delivery of new services (Project) \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for ensuring the smooth Transition/Handover to Operations in line with agreed Operational Acceptance Process \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for managing Technical Lifecycle Management for all Network & Communications services \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for supporting Architecture in creation and upkeep of a Delivery Roadmap for Network Security \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for supporting the Architecture in scoping activities required to produce the High Level Design \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for supporting Architecture in undertaking Proof of Concept activities \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for ensuring skillsets are relevant and up to date in order to deliver change and provide a high level of support \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for providing escalation support to Operations with complex troubleshooting of Major Incidents as required \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide on call escalation support (rota basis) and work extended hours as and when required Core Skills & Experience \xc2\xb7 A minimum 5 years hands on experience of network security solutions within a global enterprise scale organization (5,000-50,000 users) with both traditional datacenters and Cloud. \xc2\xb7 You will have considerable first-hand experience of design engineering and building resilient and scalable security solutions, ideally within finance or investment banking. \xc2\xb7 You understand cybersecurity principles, global financial services business models, as well as regional compliance standards, relevant local regulations, and applicable laws \xc2\xb7 You understand the concepts of risk and compliance and how to translate these into effective security solutions. \xc2\xb7 You will have an appreciation of automation and orchestration and will have experience of scripting against an API \xc2\xb7 You have a strong understanding of Layer 2, Layer 3 & Layer 4-7 network and security technologies. \xc2\xb7 You will be familiar with a variety of testing tools, networking technologies and techniques to accurately troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems associated with the service, application and network hardware and software. Technical Skills & Experience You will have expert knowledge and experience in several of the following areas: \xc2\xb7 F5 LTM, GTM, Velos, Viprion \xc2\xb7 Check Point, Maestro, NGFW platforms and management tools as Tufin \xc2\xb7 Forescout, Cisco ISE \xc2\xb7 Network Access Control in enterprise environments \xc2\xb7 Infoblox, DNS, IPAM and DHCP \xc2\xb7 Public and Private cloud security \xc2\xb7 Workflow automation It is desirable and advantageous to also have knowledge and experience of the following technology platforms: \xc2\xb7 Cisco Routing & Switching \xc2\xb7 Microsoft Active Directory, CyberArk \xc2\xb7 AWS, Azure \xc2\xb7 Illumio Technical Certification You will have the following certification or demonstrable working experience: \xc2\xb7 F5-CTS, F5-CSE, F5-CADE/A \xc2\xb7 Check Point CSSE, CCSM \xc2\xb7 Infoblox DDI \xc2\xb7 Cisco CCNP level Security, CCIE Security \xc2\xb7 ITILv3 foundation or higher It would be desirable and advantageous to also have certification demonstrable working experience: \xc2\xb7 Cisco CCNP Routing and Switching Personal Attributes \xc2\xb7 You will be highly organized and have proven ability to operate well under pressure, working to tight deadlines \xc2\xb7 You will have good problem management and customer service skills. \xc2\xb7 You will have a positive attitude and be capable of remaining positive even when under immense pressure. \xc2\xb7 You will be able to work with global teams to deliver projects, often at pace and under challenging circumstances. \xc2\xb7 You are someone with high professional standards, who never accepts the status-quo; who challenges why things are done the way they are. \xc2\xb7 You will be a strong communicator, both written and verbal \xc2\xb7 You discourage hero culture and ensure the team always comes before the individual, although always ensuring for the welfare of staff at all times. \xc2\xb7 You will always act with integrity and embrace the philosophy of treating our customers fairly (compulsory) \xc2\xb7 You will work effectively as one IT community across the regions and the business \xc2\xb7You will embrace the philosophy and principles of group IT \xc2\xb7 You understand and apply Northern Trust\xe2\x80\x99s working practices, policies and procedures Working with Us: As a Northern Trust partner, greater achievements await.
