Project Overview:

With over 3,600 hotel, 2,200 homes, 9 iconic buildings and 100 world class indoor and outdoor experiences Trojena will become the ultimate mountain destination. Bechtel will provide a full range of project management services to support the delivery of this iconic destination.

Detailed Summary:

• The position will be part of Bechtel's NEOM Design Review Team (DRT) and will be based in the India Office.
• The successful candidate is expected to work independently and will report to the project's Geotechnical Lead - Dams or their designee.
• They will also liaise with other geotechnical engineers/engineering geologists assigned to Bechtel's NEOM Project Execution Team and will liaise with Bechtel's functional geotechnical manager or their designee.
• Position requires knowledge of permitting aspects, technical requirements, design, and construction of dams. This includes familiarity with subsurface investigation and laboratory testing requirements, development of geotechnical parameters based on the results of the investigation and geotechnical design of dams.
• Responsibilities include reviewing geotechnical tasks assigned to consultants such as delivery of drawings and specifications, geotechnical analyses and reports covering topics such as geotechnical investigations, earthwork, stability of slopes, bearing capacity and settlement, geotechnical baseline reports, etc.
• Work will also involve communication on geotechnical issues with the project during the engineering design and construction stages of the project.
• The candidate will be responsible and accountable for the timely delivery of all geotechnical related deliverables for their portfolio of works.

Qualifications/Experience Essential Technical Skills:

(5 required technical skills to be used for basic screening)

• Grade 26: An M.S. degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology with a minimum of 8 years of working experience in that field or a person with a Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering and minimum 6 years of experience.
• Grade 27: An M.S. degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology with a minimum of 11 years of working experience in that field or a person with a Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering and minimum 9 years of experience.
• Professional registration is preferred.
• Demonstrable advanced proficiency level in subsurface investigations, design, and construction of dams.
• Demonstrable advanced proficiency level reviewing work performed by geotechnical consultants/contractors performing tasks such as subsurface investigations, earthwork, slope stability, geotechnical baseline reports, etc. as related to the design and construction of dams.
• Should be familiar with geotechnical engineering computer program applications such as (or equivalent to) Flac, Plaxis, LPILE, GROUP, SLOPE/W, SEEP/W, GRLWEAP, HoleBase, LeapFrog, etc.
• Must be familiar with word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

Essential Behavioral Skills:

• Must demonstrate strong verbal and written skills to communicate with project team in preparation of reports, memos and other forms of documentation and communication.
• Must embrace Bechtel's diversity & inclusion, leadership, quality, and safety values.
• Function as a mentor for younger Engineers and Designers.
• Participate in technical excellence activities.

Preferred Technical Skills:

• Previous hands-on experience with geotechnical aspects of dam design and construction is preferred.

Preferred Behavioral Skills:

• Previous experience with projects executed in the Middle East or Saudi Arabia is preferred.
• Previous experience working on large international projects is preferred.
• Previous experience working for a large engineering/procurement/construction contractor is preferred.
