A Mechanical Maintenance Foreman is a supervisory role focused on overseeing the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems and equipment within industrial or construction settings. They are responsible for leading a team of technicians, scheduling maintenance, managing repairs, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Leadership:
Managing a team of mechanical maintenance technicians, providing guidance, and ensuring they follow safety protocols and procedures.
Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:
Developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs, scheduling routine maintenance tasks, and coordinating emergency repairs.
Troubleshooting and Repair:
Diagnosing mechanical issues, coordinating repairs, and ensuring equipment is functioning optimally.
Safety Compliance:
Enforcing safety regulations and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for the team.
Resource Management:
Managing materials, tools, and equipment needed for maintenance activities.
Communication and Coordination:
Liaising with other departments, such as production and procurement, to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of maintenance tasks.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintaining records of maintenance activities, equipment repairs, and associated costs.
