Position: Sr. Director Head of Drug Development Business Planning and Delivery Office, Hyderabad

Hiring Manager: VP, Head of Drug Development (DD) Hyderabad

This role reports to the VP, Head of Drug Development (DD) Hyderabad, and leads a business delivery office to be the \xe2\x80\x9cnerve center\xe2\x80\x9d of Drug Development Hyderabad \xe2\x80\x93 playing a key role in driving business strategy, managing functional performance, resource deployment, budget, and communications. This role will also be a member of the Drug Development Leadership Team in Hyderabad.

The Hyderabad site is a key Science and Technology Innovation hub for BMS with an expected DD organization of about one thousand associates. This role will partner effectively across multiple enterprise stakeholders including Information Technology (IT), Human Resources, Finance, and Corporate Affairs. From day one, the Head of Drug Development Business Planning and Delivery Office will immediately impact our productivity, streamlining strategic initiatives, overseeing program management, and communicating objectives across departments.

Core responsibilities of this role are:

Lead the development and execution of Drug Development HYD functional strategy, and plans, scaling up and setting up of targets, manage the operational framework, and implement process improvement exercises, as needed.

Ensure DD\xe2\x80\x99s daily operations run smoothly, projects are completed by the given deadlines, and act in an advisory role for important decisions about the business and organization.

Establish and maintain performance tracking for measuring performance effectiveness and operational metrics, to achieve functional objectives, within budgets and timelines. Partner with DD functions to develop and implement a continuous quality improvement process across all program areas, focusing on systems and process improvement, based on analysis of data generated from all departments.

Managing an ongoing set 10-15 strategic site initiatives as a project management office (PMO), ensuring connectivity across the seams, and enabling prioritization / resourcing conversations when needed.

Partnering with enterprise business partners to plan and implement internal and external engagement opportunities \xe2\x80\x93 inclusive of Town Halls, Site engagement activities, Senior Leader meetings etc.

Keep up to date on industry trends.

Develop executive-level presentations and updates to facilitate leadership discussions on site strategy and growth.

Requirements:

Applicants must be MBAs, or postgraduates in an equivalent field, with a reputed academic performance.

12-15 years of relevant progressive leadership experience, of which at least five years should be in senior leadership roles in programs/ operations of a growth-oriented life sciences organization.

Demonstrated skills in performance management, leading diverse work teams and implementing organization-wide operational and managerial processes across multiple geographies.

Knowledge and experience in project and budget management, data analysis, organization development and people management, with a large organization.

Ongoing affiliations and leadership in organizations that practice effective operations management.

Flexible and able to adapt to change and thrive in a fast-paced working environment.

Proactive, organized, and promoter of diversity and inclusivity.

Extremely detail-oriented and organized while working with a fast-paced team, often under pressure.

Ability to build relationships, influence across the matrix and drive organizational engagement across functions and sites. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship and negotiation skills to be able to effectively collaborate and engage with a matrixed team of global professionals.

Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Familiarity with change management initiatives.
