Required for the position of SQL Developer;

• Experience as a SQL Developer or similar role
• Excellent understanding of T-SQL programming
• Excellent understanding of Microsoft SQL Server
• Familiarity with the practical application of NoSQL databases
• Experience with building data pipelines and ETL
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Team player
• Good time-management skills
• Great interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred, but not required

• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• Knowledge of .NET languages and HTML5/CSS3
• Experience with visualising data e.g. PowerBI
• Experience and proven track record working with Azure SQL

We are looking for a SQL developer to join our passionate, diverse and talented team of software developers. You will work with teams, product owners and SMEs to build, operate and optimise database solutions.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a SQL developer and some Db administration with significant hands-on experience with SQL Server, T-SQL, database administration and PowerShell. You will be involved in the SQL development on our day-to-day software development projects.

You will help manage multiple databases and support the ETL process of transferring data between databases. The optimum solution must always be considered to guarantee robust systems. You will be a key member of the Development team, working closely with other SQL developers and full-stack software developers, as well as working with DBAs, the BI team and updating Project Management on progress.

What you will contribute to the team;

• Involved in agile development practices
• Supporting the operational and development teams
• Develop, implement and optimise SQL queries, procedures, functions, views, triggers
• Working with complex database schemas with high transaction volumes
• Migrating to cloud environments
• Supporting production as well as development systems
• Paired programming, as required
• Supporting the development manager in all aspects of database administration
• Implementing data security and redundancy solutions
• Analyse existing SQL queries for performance improvements
• Develop procedures and scripts for data migration
