Job Description


The Associate reports to the Managing Director, India Office Head to assist in operational matters across CPP Investments in Mumbai, implement growth strategy and business plan in the region. Role-specific Accountabilities: Business development Support the India team with operational project implementation, various internal and external presentations and internal briefing memos, financial analysis of the portfolio and reporting of investment activities Conduct preliminary evaluation of inbound pitches received by bankers and redirecting promising ones to Investment Departments along with assisting in deal sourcing from large conglomerates Establish and maintain data sets for effective reporting and monitoring against targets Manage full project management of CEO/ Senior management in-person visits/ discussions (Davos, conferences, catchup calls etc.) including preparing agenda, briefing memos and discussion points. Market landscaping: Peer analysis and competitive landscaping of focus areas and deals Participate in industry forums and bodies as prioritized by Global Public Affairs team Support investment teams with sector strategy and research on target opportunities, assisting with relationship management and business development activities Maintain interaction history and meeting notes on Deal Cloud, loop in relevant investment departments Special projects Participate and contribute to special projects (strategic and operational) while working closely with internal groups and the management to monitor the performance of existing investments Strategy papers on cross cutting topics relevant to overall India business to identify potential investible themes and key targets Assist in analysis, preparation, and monitoring of annual business plan and budget Maintain latest view of top conglomerates in India along with reputation checks on high potential business groups Internal workstreams Be a culture carrier. Plan and coordinate various corporate meetings, regional quarterly meetings, team building activities, Diwali, year-end dinners and off-site staff events as required to promote and build one-fund culture Formulate annual events calendar and take lead in execution Collaborate on firm-wide initiatives (Knowledge champion for Mumbai office, Speed to impact initiatives etc.) Other workstreams (periodic- monthly, quarterly basis) Prepare reporting and meeting materials for CPP Investments Executive and Board meeting as needed, including summary of developments to Global Public Affairs team (India updates for APAC) India investments summary alongside Finance team Update deal tracker and anchor monthly India pipeline calls with investment departments Qualifications Over 6 years of experience in a top tier accounting or management consulting firm, equity research, investment banking, private equity, or a combination of such at top-tier global firms Master s degree preferably in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or Accounting Experience in conducting research, data analysis, budgeting, financial analysis and financial modeling Ability to communicate structurally and effectively in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment Proven experience in creating meeting presentation materials for senior management Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Calendar) and ability to learn new applications. Fluent in written and oral English. Strong communication skills (oral, written, presentation) and interpersonal skills Familiarity with public equity, private equity, and real estate investments a plus Key Competencies: Displays a high degree of professionalism, with the ability to manage internal and external relationships Extensive working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); in particular, familiarity with building and running financial models in Excel and sound accounting skills Experience in compiling data and financial information Flexibility, adaptability and forward-thinking Team player who enjoys a high-performance culture Open to and comfortable with constantly evolving and changing priorities and new challenges Conduct consistent with CPP Investments Guiding Principles of Integrity, Partnership and High Performance
