Job Description




300+ Clinical trials ongoing, 100000+ Number of patients in our studies. Novartis is looking for dedicated individuals to join our Clinical Analytics Solution Delivery team and supply to supporting Analytics Team in designing innovative trials and utilize cutting-edge methodologies and visual analytics to improve and accelerate decision making.

As a key player in our program, this role will be accountable for lifecycle and customization of Python and R Environments as part of Statistical workbench of Platform and accountable for design and customize and build technological areas and will be part of our \xe2\x80\x9cProduct & Platform Delivery - Core\xe2\x80\x9d team in Technology Transformation Organization in Novartis.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Own and drive Solution Design for Python and R Environments as part of Statistical Work Bench through addressing all business requirements and opportunities while following Novartis architectural standards, quality and information security principles
  • Ability to get involved with engineering and/or development activities to ensure timely delivery of objectives.
  • Participate in all Subject matter expert (SME) activities and help on any functional testing activities. Build and maintain effective working relationship with cross-functional team.
  • Deliver assigned project work as per agreed timeline within budget and on-quality adhering to following the release calendars.
  • Create detailed design/technological impact analysis based on the functional specifications, and ensure development and execution taking in to account security and compliance.
  • Champion the standardization and simplification of design, minimizing the custom solutions only for cases where Novartis makes a difference in the market serving customers/patients
Minimum requirements
5 years of relevant professional IT experience in the related functional area. Experience in building software from sources including knowledge of Build Systems (Make, Cmake, Maven, ANT, EasyBuild, Gradle etc)
  • Proficiency with administration and maintenance of Linux based systems including fundamental programming skills (Linux shell scripting, python, Perl etc).Experience managing Python and R environments.
  • Experience with in an HPC/Scientific Computing Environment. Knowledge of HPC or cloud scheduling such as Grid Engine, SLURM or LSF
  • Good to have experience in Rstudio Server, Rstudio Package Manager and R Studio Connect.
  • Experience in software engineering methodologies, release engineering and/or configuration management in any SCM Tool.
  • Strong understanding on CI/CD processes , Agile and DevOps Concepts, customer service , problem solving and organization skills. Willing and able to learn technologies and required domain knowledge at a rapid pace.
  • Strong collaboration skills are essential, including ability to work in multidisciplinary teams. Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Strong interpersonal skills
