Your field of responsibility

The position is a meaningful role within our global SOX 404 Compliance program. The role will be passionate about functioning as a critical team member to assist with the management of the Switzerland regional SOX 404 book-of-work across all aspects of the annual SOX lifecycle as well as to support various SOX 404 group control topics, COSO / Company Wide Controls work and global projects. Main Duties/Responsibilities of the Role: This position, based in Pune, is a meaningful role within the SOX 404 Switzerland and Group Control Topics team as part of the SOX 404 Compliance program. You will function as a ‘Global Deputy Manager’ (corporate title = Assistant Vice President). This will include responsibility to assist with the management of various SOX 404 control topics, COSO / Company Wide Controls work, global projects and working with resources in Zurich and Pune. Global Deputy Manager:


  • Function as a deputy representative for the SOX 404 Switzerland and Group Control Topics team
  • Assist with the team of the regional book of work across all phases of the SOX cycle. This includes assistance with tracking, monitoring, and reporting regional issues and regional status. This also includes supporting SOX control owners and SOX local supporters throughout the annual SOX lifecycle
  • Perform a variety of SOX 404 and COSO control related projects, ensure timely delivery thereof, resolve problems as they occur and call out to manager if required
  • Perform SOX issue assessments on matters arising from a variety of channels (e.g. reported operational incidents, internal audit reports, etc.), assess and detail the severity of identified SOX control deficiencies
  • Support the line as it relates to the application of the SOX 404 policy and mentorship
  • Assist with the prioritizing & mapping of key regional SOX controls
  • Perform user acceptance testing on changes to the SOX documentation application
  • Supervise quality assurance reviews of COSO control framework
  • Assist with the preparation of supporting data for use in various management & committee reporting (e.g. Global SOX 404 Steering Committee, Group Audit Committee, etc.)
  • Work closely with counterparts who work in a regional or global capacity within the SOX program

Your future colleagues

You will be working with the regional Switzerland SOX 404 Compliance Program. Head of the SOX 404 Switzerland and Group Control Topics team, led by a Vice President based in Zurich, has the directive to manage regional compliance with SOX 404 rules along with the regional SOX 404 book-of-work and group control topics. The SOX 404 Switzerland and Group Control Topics team is part of Group SOX 404 Compliance Program Management and Group Business Process Controls (BPC), led by a Director based in Zurich. The SOX 404 program has the directive to manage compliance with SOX 404 rules for Credit Suisse Group AG (CSG) and Credit Suisse AG (CS). The program is Group-wide with regional teams based in Zurich, New York, Raleigh, London, Pune, and Singapore. Note that the Zurich based Director is also responsible for Group Valuation-in-Resolution controls compliance, ESG Controls Compliance, and the development of legal entity internal control over financial reporting frameworks. The SOX 404 compliance program is part of the CFO Risk and Control Office, led by a Managing Director based in Zurich. CFO Risk and Control has overall responsibilities for maintaining and managing several of the firm's most critical control programs, including: the SOX 404 Control Framework; the Regulatory Reporting Framework; General Ledger Account Ownership; the Environmental Social Governance (ESG) Reporting Control Framework; the Valuation-in-Resolution (ViR) Control Framework; and the Group Finance Control Framework. Your skills and experience

Required Work Experience/Background:

  • Degree in accounting and/or finance
  • You are a CPA or Chartered Accountant and understand US GAAP
  • 6 – 8 years of SOX 404 proven experience – achieved either at the Big 4 (on multinational coordinated audit engagements, which are PCAOB compliant) or at a multinational bank (within SOX 404 compliance, Group Finance, Internal Audit, etc.)
  • Proven experience in SOX 404 issue assessments
  • Proven experience in financial services and understand how a multinational bank operates
  • Strong knowledge of the US GAAP accounting standards, processes and typical key controls relating to operations, finance and product control
  • Proven track record working on a distributed team and interacting with colleagues both locally and overseas
  • Relationship dedicated and able to build and handle a variety of relationships across the organizations
  • Eloquent and efficiently liaise with partners at a variety of seniority levels
  • Organized, analytical and have the ability to meet strict reporting deadlines with can-do attitude!
  • Result oriented, dedicated, hardworking who can work on own initiative and can deliver on time under pressure with a high level of integrity and flexibility, attention to detail and quality standards
