Job Summary:



The Sous Chef is the second-in-command in the kitchen and plays a crucial role in supporting the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations. This includes overseeing food preparation, ensuring high standards of hygiene and food quality, training staff, and helping with menu development. The Sous Chef steps in for the Executive Chef when necessary and helps maintain smooth and efficient kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:



Assist the Executive Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations. Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff. Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and compliance with safety and sanitation standards. Train and mentor kitchen staff, including line cooks and prep cooks. Help develop and update menus based on seasonal availability and customer preferences. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and receiving supplies. Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization according to health and safety regulations. Lead by example in maintaining a positive, team-oriented work environment. Manage kitchen staff scheduling in coordination with the Executive Chef. Fill in as needed during busy periods or when other staff are absent. Handle customer inquiries and feedback related to food quality when required.

Qualifications:



Proven experience as a Sous Chef, Kitchen Supervisor, or relevant role in a commercial kitchen. Culinary degree or equivalent professional certification preferred. Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, culinary techniques, and food safety standards. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to remain calm and focused in a high-pressure environment. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods.

Work Environment:



Fast-paced kitchen environment. Exposure to heat, noise, and potentially hazardous equipment. Requires frequent standing, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and multitasking.

Pay: ?30,000.00 - ?50,000.00 per month
