• Knowledge of Marketing / Customer Experience with tech stack needed to support the business needs
• Solid understanding of Marketing practices that use identity, consent, data, creative and tech to influence customer behaviour
• Responsible to build innovative technology solutions to solve unique marketing challenges.
• This role is required to deliver target state Solutions Architecture working with technology councils, design authorities, programme and change boards.
• Design solutions architecture effectively, deliver on our Group strategy and satisfy all our stakeholders Technical as well as Non-technical, we must deliver our initiatives consistently and transparently.
• Translate business requirements & E2E designs into technical implementations based on system capabilities.
• Ensure consistency in approach, design, and output to deliver quality and concise design solution documentation.
• Lead best practice methodology for solution delivery
• Define, promote re-usable, extendible, scalable, maintainable solution considering trade-off for cost vs benefit
• Communicate at all levels in a clear and credible way about the importance of solution design.
• Lead developers in the team and foster a shared vision for design.
• Knowledgeable and skilled at the practice of data driven design solutions
• Run and assure the design delivery of multiple projects, ensuring they achieve their outcomes to plan.
• Knowledge and ability to abide by Governance process defined by Bank like LCT

What will you be doing?

• Lead & Define Solution for Data Driven Marketing and Customer Experience
• Good knowledge of Data privacy regulations and ability to make each solution delivered to align with latest regulations. This may need working closely with SME’s within the bank
• Develop, specify, and lead end-to-end technical solutions
• Work directly with other engineering and architecture functions, business and technology stakeholders to deliver fit for purpose and strategic technical solutions/plans, in particular those initiatives that drive modernisation, re-platforming and large-scale change/transformation
• Guide and mentor other architects and designers
• Define and review the API specs in line with Barclays API standards
• Collaborate to provision estimates, develop overall implementation solution/application plan, and serve as a lead as required, to implement the installation, customization, and integration efforts
• Responsible for ratifying technology solutions, producing concise Design documents, including Source to Target mappings, data manipulation / processing logic, contribute to stage 0 and 1 estimate, to meet solution requirements, in line with team and group Strategies and Architectures
• Adding clarity to business requirements, challenges business requirements and demands to ensure high quality candidate solutions are created.
• Responsible for ensuring that the build outcomes delivered by our teams are consistent with produced designs meeting requested solution.
• Great leader and good mentor, Ownership of defect triage, review code & contribute as required.
• Continue to build, extend, innovative next generation banking solutions and capabilities.
• Working closely with CTO, CISO, Engineering function and other teams in order to deliver solutions at highest standards.

• Contribution in service improvement - Responsible to prepare designs & support the implementation of problems records / improvements identified by service management
• Solution design should make sure Resiliency, Security and Operational Optimization are factored in to align with Barclays group standards and industry best practices

What we’re looking for:

• Excellent understanding and extensive experience of modern software design and engineering, having solved complex, analytical and technical problems
• Ability to lead solutions in depth at all levels including architecture, interface specification, code structure, network protocols, operations and troubleshooting
• Strong analytical skills and proven ability to simplify and clearly communicate complex analytical outcomes, linkages and messages to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience of shaping and defining solutions across disparate technologies that enable you to resolve a complex business issue with a simple and cost effective technology based solution.
• Knowledge of marketing automation and related tool
• Knowledge of Martech and Ad tech tool/stacks like Digital Tagging Solution- Tealium, Appsflyer, Real Time Interaction Management, Customer Data Platform, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Experience Manager, Adservers
• Integration – Knowledge in Integration patterns especially in a Cloud Native, Digital, Microservices.
• Data – Knowledge in Data Platforms especially in a NoSQL (MongoDB) and real-time data processing
• Experience of Modern Architecture patterns e.g. Domain Driven, Event Driven, API (e.g. MicroServices, Service Mesh, GraphQL/REST etc.).
• Hands-on experience in architecting cloud solutions (AWS/Azure)
• Exposure to API design strategies both for internal and external customer usage
• Breadth of knowledge across Containers (ECS/Kubernetes/Docker), Monitoring tools (Prometheus/Grafana/AppD), No SQL DB/PostgreSQL, Data Model, Machine Learning tools etc.
• Ability to understand Threat Vectors in cloud environment and design associated security/controls.
• Hands on experience of designing stream processing applications using Apache Kafka and Spark/Flink

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Prior experience of Digital Marketing and Customer Experience
• Functional/Domain experience in Banking/Cards/Loans.
• Product Processing – Specialised/Deeper financial services product/business/process knowledge.
• Application/Infrastructure/Enterprise Architect training and certification, e.g. TOGAF.
• Experience of cloud platforms and best practices. Cloud Certification are good to have.
• Proven experience of system integration, API design and API management.
