Responsible for creating technology application solutions for end to end application designs to meet business requirements in line with RFT and Group IT Strategies and Architectures across CRFTL . Leadership and growth for the India based members of the global CRFTL architecture team . Collaborating with application product delivery teams to ensure that those solutions are fit for purpose and support them with architecture related challenges through delivery . Working with the relevant Technology and Change Project Managers and CTO Enterprise Architects - responsible for ensuring that the outcomes delivered by projects are consistent with the original solution . Support the development of systems strategies and roadmaps for the supported business area . Provide ad-hoc consultancy as required to the business on technical matters What will you be doing Solutions Development (Minimum 40%) . Responsible for creating technology solutions for applications to meet business requirements for CRFTL in line with RFT and company Strategies and Architectures. Work with supply chain (including external) as appropriate to produce initial costs, and throughout the development lifecycle. . Adding clarity to CRFTL business requirements challenges business requirements and demands to ensure high quality candidate solutions are created . Identifying common or duplicative needs across CRFTL, RFT and the wider Group. . Thinks outside of the box to support the business in delivering its strategic objectives rather than just responding to a pre-defined request, . Works with project managers and sourcing managers to advise on supplier and cost options, and to ensure that the validity of the overall solution is fully represented and considered in any RFI/RFPs process, or in the creation and evaluation of proof of concept solutions . Takes responsibility for ensuring that solutions adhere to architectural and quality standards and policies. . Working with the relevant Technology and Change Project Manager and Lead Solutions Architect and CTO Architects - responsible for ensuring that the outcomes delivered by projects are consistent with the original solution specified. This will be achieved by reviewing project design artefacts (e.g. Architecture Visions) and the impact of significant change requests. . Accelerate our journey to Cloud (internal and external public cloud) . Optimising use of infrastructure and licenses to drive down total cost of ownership Leadership for the India based CRFTL Architecture Team members (up to 25%) . Represent Architecture Team in various leadership forums . Review and provide guidance for the artefacts prepared any submitted by the architecture team . Have complete end to end view for CRFTL architecture, ensure that top level architecture documents are maintained and up to date through change control process . Line management activities for the team members . Create partnership with CIO delivery lead representatives across UK, India and US teams Advice and Guidance (up to 15%) . Support the Director of Architecture in providing advice and guidance to business stakeholders in shaping the portfolio of technology solutions, and the estimating process for initiatives being provided to business stakeholders and AEs representing m+ investments. . Contribute to broader architectural governance activities by participating in peer reviews for other solutions architects/designers. Form part of broader solution design community across CRFTL for advice and guidance. . Maintains detailed awareness of, takes fully into account as necessary, and promotes throughout the organisation, any relevant statutory, internal or external regulations, standards and codes of good practice. Is capable of contributing to the definition of such regulations, standards and codes. . Actively contributes to the development and promotion of CRFTL within RFT and the wider Group. Strategy Development (up to 20%) . Working with the relevant CTO Architects, supports the creation of an appropriate technology strategy and roadmap for the relevant business area. . Supports the Medium Term Planning (MTP) process to ensure interdependencies are understood and that the proposed plan is viable. . Influence the relevant business strategy to maximize the effective use of technology. . Maintains knowledge of relevant technical specialism(s) at the highest level, by reading relevant literature, attending conferences and seminars, meeting and maintaining contact with other leading practitioners of the technical specialism and though playing a major role in appropriate learned, professional and trade bodies. Build relationship with manufacturers, supply channels and SI partners. . Keeps in close touch with, and contributes, to current developments in the relevant technical specialism(s) within Barclays, own industry and outside. Is fluent at articulating best practice . Where appropriate to role, is a recognized authority in the technical specialism. What we\'re looking for: . Excellent understanding integration and implementation issues and their architectural implications, and of best practice architectural and design methods. . Can describe existing technology infrastructure across major functions / departments and has a comprehensive grasp of emerging technologies. Skills that will help you in the role: . Has a working knowledge of the key issues in implementing secure systems . Broad and solid understanding of the concepts and roles behind service delivery and systems support . Understands different project methodologies, project lifecycles, major phases, dependencies and milestones within a project, and the required documentation needs. . Experienced with planning, estimating, staffing, organising, and working on multiple projects. Has monitored and dealt with critical paths and risks areas. .
