Solution Architect (Advanced Customer Experience)

At Alcon, we are working on various Digital Products for our Alcon Franchises and Alcon Regions.

This Position is about to work with various Product Oriented Delivery Teams (PODs):

1. Order to Cash (implementing a Spartacus eCommerce Systems, based on SAP Commerce Cloud (formerly known as SAP Hybris

2. Enablement

3. Connected Customer Flow

4. User Data Management

5. Demand Chain Management

Role Summary:

• Owns the architectural decisions for the product, valuing simplicity and willing to challenge technical constraints and procedures to achieve agile design

• Is an executor as well as the visionary force behind the technical solution, getting hands-on with the teams solve product tech stack challenges

• Is responsible for planning and developing the product architectural runway in collaboration with the Enterprise Architect

Your Responsibilities as Solution Architect:

• Designs the overall technological architecture of the product (i.e., front to back tech stack) with the help of the product teams and the Enterprise Architect

• Guides product teams on technology strategy related to tech stack coding standards

• Ensures the technical design and infrastructure are kept in-line with an MVP mindset of 'emerging architecture'

• Mentors and coaches the Tech Leads around best practices for the product tech stack

• Identifies and removes architecture related impediments

• Works with the Product Owner to align the roadmap with the tradeoffs of the product technical stack

• Looks to continuously improve the product tech stack and solve its engineering limitations

• Shares responsibility with the Global Product Owner for building reusable and scalable product components

Domain Expertise:

• Technical expertise in the components of the product technologies (e.g., SAP Commerce, Angular, etc.)

• Deep insight into newest technology trends

• Significant experience with Agile infrastructure, environments, and deployment strategies / technologies to drive efficient working practices and collaboration with DevOps

• Ability to make architecture decisions at a team and product level

• Experience working on projects that span multiple organizations and business units

Agile/Digital Experience

• Experience in Agile Development as a Tech Lead (or similar) or as a Solution Architect (preferred)

• Understanding of team members' roles and responsibilities

• Strong sense of design thinking to role model Agile user centricity

• Track record at managing backlog priorities informed by product architecture tradeoffs

Individual Skills

• Ability to manage multiple sets of stakeholders in the organization, from engineering to business

• Strong communication skills with ability to align leadership and product teams on complex technical decisions

What you should bring to the the Team:

Hands-on experience in development functionality accompanied by unit tests, integration tests, etc.

Familiar with RDBMS including ORM, SQL, etc.

Extensive experience in building either SOA applications or integrating systems with many 3rd party dependencies via RESTful APIs

Experience working in Agile development teams

Collaborative, team-based approach

Able to communicate effectively to other members of the project team

Certified by SAP in SAP Commerce Cloud

Experience with SAP Commerce Cloud based on Microsoft Azure (CCv2) is big plus

Experience upgrading SAP Commerce Cloud solutions in production to newer versions of SAP Commerce Cloud is highly desirable

Experience with SAP Spartacus front-end (Angular) is highly desirable

Experience on Hybris B2B accelerator, Hybris Core, Hybris Back office, WCMS, Smart Edit, Business Process, ASM, Consignment process

Experience on Hybris Search, Adaptive Search, Search profile, SOLR customization

Experience of SAP based external pricing, CPQ, JCO architecture, OMS is desirable.

Experience on Hybris Promotions, Rule Engine

Experience on multi store/site based checkout process

Knowledge on Hybris PIM is desirable

Experience on GIT based version control

Experience on Sonar Qube
