About the Opportunity

The Avaya R&D team in Pune is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to mentor, lead, coach design/development teams in analysis of product requirements specification, design the features according to the specification and deliver the quality code on time with agree scope. The team is looking for a strong and customer focused individual with extensive development, debugging and troubleshooting skills and managing/leading teams across time-zones. Candidate should also have passion for innovation and make use of Avaya innovation platform to file Patents

About the Responsibilities

Coherent verbal & written articulation skills, culturally savvy, good collaboration skills working with diverse set of people.
Mentor, lead, coach teams in

  • Analyzing requirements specifications, design, and produce clean, efficient code according to the specifications and patterns used in Microservices, Reactive, Domain driven design
  • Integrating software components/modules using APIs & message bus based microservices & frontend clients, UI/UX. verify and deploy applications and systems using best practices as recommended by DORA metrics.
  • Troubleshooting, debugging, upgrading, and fixing of issues in existing software in Cloud with help of metrics, monitors
  • Work with developers for designing features, code reviews and to deal with technical challenges
  • Recommending and execution of improvements/fixes proactively with zero downtime upgrade & rollback
  • Create technical documentation for reference and reporting including cost consideration
  • Involved in Production monitoring and proactively taking actions based on monitors/alerts from Production
  • Plan/track/manage sprint activities for test engineers part of the digital team (manual, automation, performance)
  • Conduct stand-ups to review for progress/issues/blockers or and collaborate with SM in conducting standups
  • Review sprint plan of engineers and conduct meetings for progress/issues/blockers/improvements
  • Represent the team in solution MRRB
  • Forecast & Predict goals, backed by an execution plan
  • Attend defect reviews, incident reviews, design reviews
  • Work closely with Architects & Leads across value streams
  • Represent teams in external forums
About the Requirement

EXPERIENCE
  • Proven experience in design, development, deployment, and troubleshooting/debugging cloud-based microservices at scale.
  • Proven experience in mentoring & leading members in the team working on cloud projects with frequent incremental deliveries.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in managing a Cloud based team based on OKR (objectives, key, results) having successful track record of multiple deliveries, creating roadmaps.
