Job Summary
NetApp is developing new portfolio of cloud-led, data-centric storage platforms and services to help the world's leading organizations harness their data in new and interesting ways. NetApp is bringing its industry leading, enterprise class data storage technologies into the world's biggest public clouds and the simplicity and flexibility of cloud into customer data centers.
In support of that mission, we are growing our Cloud File System and Protocol Engineering group, which is core group that develops storage access protocols and features viz. NFS/CIFS/S3/Cloud/Big-Data workloads and provide cutting access solutions to the ONTAP storage operating systems and state of art Copy/Migration engines. The group provides high business value to product revenue and is looking for seasoned engineering manager to lead an exceptionally talented and growing engineering team responsible for driving product development and strategy.
As part of the NetApp Research and Development function, the overall focus of the team will be on delivering innovative technologies to address competitive market and customer requirements with enterprise-class product quality and time-to-market. The team will be also responsible for maintenance and enhancements to existing technologies and products.
Job Requirements

• Manage team of engineers responsible for all phases of software development life cycle with clear understanding of the product development cycle and project management
• Develop, modify and execute policies and processes that will positively affect immediate operations
• Establish operational objectives and plans for the team and delegate assignments
• Develop practical project plans and ensure that project goals are very well met.
• Experience with developing budgets and predicting project costs
• Demonstrated ability to manage professional level employees
• Utilize previous technical, project management and people management experience to actively lead and deliver complex projects requiring local and global collaboration
• Take responsibility for results, including costs, methods, and staffing
• Strong oral and written communication skills are essential
• Ability to innovate, understand and apply newer technologies
• Experience with the systems engineering domain requiring concepts such as computer architecture, operating systems, file systems, networking, algorithms and data structures
• Experience in managing software development projects with Python/Advance Python/C, OOAD in LINUX/Windows environments.
• Experience with NAS Infra protocols (DNS/Windows-AD/LDAP/KERBEROS/NTLM/TCP-IP) will be beneficial
• Experience with storage technologies, Storage-Protocol is desired
• Participate in product design, architecture review
• This individual must work effectively with staff to vice president level employees and employees within and outside of their function and organization.
• Utilizes people skills and available people manager tools to critically impact the growth of an individual within the company and career.
• This individual must demonstrate favorable results through providing leadership to the function.
• Effectively work in a hybrid model

Education

• A minimum of 10 years of experience as an individual contributor and a minimum of 5 years as a people manager is required.
• A Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, a Master's Degree, or a PhD; or equivalent experience is required.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, critical projects is required.
