We are building a Technology Platform that will enable fast and ubiquitous push payments across a range of domestic and cross border use cases aiming to capture significant revenue opportunity across P2P, B2SB, and B2C flows and value-added services. Built on the latest standards/tech stack and providing open APIs, this platform will help drive innovation in the entire ecosystem. Our developers work across the stack, and are experts in service-oriented architectures and technologies such as Java 8, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, MicroServices, Oracle, MongoDB, React JS/Angular, Cassandra, Hazelcast, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Kubernetes and Docker. As we embark on the journey to enhance the Visa Direct Payout Services (VDPS) technology platforms, we are looking for a Director, DEVOPS for the Visa Payments Ltd (VPL) team who can participate in the detailed design and development activities for this product build. The role involves extensive hands-on activities. Here are key job responsibilities -

  • Understand the Payments industry and where Visa Direct Payout Services fits in the payment's ecosystem
  • Develop a good understanding of the Visa Direct Payout Services technology platforms and the 3 rails of money movement - cards, accounts and wallets.
  • Understand the technology requirements, infrastructure requirements, non-functional requirements and their mapping to business KPIs.
  • Have a clear understanding of different types of servers, networking, data centres available at Visa.
  • Evaluate tools, infrastructure, technology options and provide recommendation on scope and scale of effort required develop scalable CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understand and align with VISA enterprise best practices and roadmaps like - containerisation, middleware standardisation and AA, AP topologies.
  • Understand the nature of application and data hosted. Pay attention to the security standards at all environments.
  • Engage with cross-functional co-located teams in design, development and implementation of enterprise scalable features related to enabling higher developer productivity, environment monitoring and self-healing, and facilitate autonomous delivery teams.
  • Take ownership of infrastructure planning, provisioning and monitoring responsibility for multiple components of the platform with a focus on security, high scalability (3000+ tps), and six nines of availability.
  • Create operational excellence with effective automation.
  • Enable business, tech and operations team with effective observability and monitoring dashboards.
  • Support, troubleshoot and analyze code on all 3 layers of the stack related to infrastructure, middleware, and continuous integration and delivery frameworks.
  • Actively work with engineering leads to understand the DEVOPS requirements well ahead of time to avoid provisioning bottlenecks.
  • Manage and mentor a team of senior DEVOPS, TECHOPS, SECOPS engineers.
  • Coordinate DEVOPS activities across the delivery of the project and work with engineers to ensure their delivery pipeline is efficiently designed to high quality standards.
  • Co-ordinate and influence business and technology partners spread across different regions.
  • Ability to identify, communicate and manage opportunities and risks at all environments.
  • Create sustainable DEVOPS processes and practices following continuous improvement.
  • Continuously learn, evaluate and educate the team with new tools and techniques
  • Work collaboratively across team boundaries to share common capabilities.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

  • Degree in computer science or related field with a minimum of 10+ years of Software Development/DEVOPS Experience.
  • Led and delivered complex projects where complexity is a function of a combination of these factors - domain knowledge, distributed architecture, technical stack, influencing and collaborating with multiple technology partners and business partners
  • Experience as a DEVOPS technical SME with ability to understand the requirements and independently assess, design and build large scale resilient enterprise platform infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in two or more scripting languages of the following: Python, Ruby, Java, Javascript, PHP, Bash, Shell, Perl and Node.js.
  • Extensive experience in Continuous delivery and continuous integration tools such as Jenkins, Maven, TeamCity, Bamboo, Travis CI and Hudson
  • Experience in working with multiple source code management tools like SVN, Git and Bitbucket.
  • Experience in design, development, configuration, deployment, and migration of Microservices to Docker, Kubernetes clusters using SpringBoot, Jenkins 2.0, Artifactory, Argo CD, Kustomize
  • Experience in working with configuration management tools like Puppet, Chef, Ansible and Terraform.
  • Experience in testing tools like selenium, Test NG and Junit.
  • Experience in monitoring tools like Prometheus, ELK, datadog, New relic, Nagios, Splunk etc
  • Experience with shift left practices and performance testing applications.
  • Working experience in cloud computing, PaaS, IaaS, and related areas are highly desirable.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Automation and Problem solving skills and ability to follow through to completion.
  • Collaborate with security team to implement and verify secure coding techniques.
  • Experience in the Payment domain is a plus.
