Responsibilities:

• As a backend Java developer, you will work within a specific problem space critical to Telstra\xe2\x80\x99s current needs where you will design, develop, and deploy backend services with a focus on scalability, high availability, and low latency.
• Review and integrate all application requirements, including functional, security, integration, performance, quality, and operations requirements.
• Apply engineering best practices such as Agile, CI/CD, and DevOps as part of a high performing motivated team.
• Collaborate and grow in a dynamic and autonomous environment while working in small, agile, and cross functional teams
• Pivot to working on new features and developments, to providing production support in the production and pre-production environments assisted by all team members. This responsibility is equally shared by all members of the team.

Essential Skills:

• Must have strong Java programming background (preferably Java 8+)\xe2\x80\x8b
• Preferred Frameworks \xe2\x80\x93 Spring Boot\xe2\x80\x8b
• Unit Testing, Integration testing and Automated testing. \xe2\x80\x8b
• Experience with Continuous Integration/Deployment\xe2\x80\x8b
• Microservices development \xe2\x80\x93 HTTP, REST API\xe2\x80\x8b design and implementation\xe2\x80\x8b
• Comfortable to operate in an agile, dynamic environment\xe2\x80\x8b.
• Database - SQL (MySQL, Postgresql) - NoSQL (Couchbase, MongoDB)
• Strong debugging and analysis skills

Desirable Skills:

• Domain knowledge of Telecom.\xe2\x80\x8b
• Understanding & exposure on AWS cloud Services such as EC2, ECR, ECS, VPC, IAM, Route 53, RDS, DynamoDB CloudWatch etc.\xe2\x80\x8b
• Secure coding practices\xe2\x80\x8b\xe2\x80\x8b
• Application monitoring and logging\xe2\x80\x8b
• Jira, Bamboo, Bitbucket/Git\xe2\x80\x8b\xe2\x80\x8b, Linux shell\xe2\x80\x8b\xe2\x80\x8b
• Docker, Apigee ,AWS \xe2\x80\x93 Lambda
