Elsevier\xe2\x80\x99s Digital Business Solutions business unit solves customer and business problems by leveraging technology and data. The architecture team provide ideas, governance and consultancy allowing our delivery teams to develop innovative software solutions.

About the Role

This position performs moderate research, design, and software development assignments within a specific software functional area or product line.

Responsibilities

• Writing and reviewing portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
• Completing simple bug fixes.
• Working closely with other development team members to understand product requirements and translate them into software designs.
• Operating in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
• Resolving technical issues as necessary.
• Keeping abreast of new technology developments.

Requirements

• Have experience working with web technologies such as HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, XML, JSON.
• Have experience developing web applications using PHP.
• Have an understanding of SQL and generating queries with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Have experience with JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS, React.js, WordPress, with Unix / Linux style command line interfaces.
• Have experience with version control using GIT.
• Have good oral, written communications skills and problem-solving skill.
