The Sustainable Energy Management incubation venture is a start-up-style team mixing R&D and business skills, building a disruptive solution for real-time, distributed power flexibility management, working with partners and customers from the energy industry.

As an R&D team member, you
  • play an active role as part of an engaging, quick pace and creative problem-solving team,
  • will be working closely with your software development peers, to build a distributed system for real-time smart grid control,
  • will be the team expert on all operational, field IT/security and resilience requirements in power grid applications, as well as specific industrial interface protocols in that context,
  • take ownership of specific software platform building blocks, but also collaborate with the team on the overall system architecture of the industry standards compliant product design,
  • are ready to support, from a system author perspective, the roll-out and operations of platform installations in the field, and
  • actively follow industry (de facto or actual) standardization trends.


Qualification You have
  • Min 5yrs of relevant experience(Power/ Energy Domain) with a Master degree in (Software) Engineering or equivalent by education or experience, implying you are a full-stack developer familiar with modern software lifecycle practices and tools, open source library use in languages such as Python, JavaScript, C++ and various other languages and design paradigms,
  • a concrete, multi-year experience of building software for critical industry systems , thus having expertise in the specific automation interfaces, security and resilience requirements that are assumed in industrial automation (e.g., SCADA systems and modern evolutions beyond it, multi-zone firewalling, practical application of industry security standards, product testing and validation testing, \xe2\x80\xa6)
You are
  • capable of autodidactically acquiring knowledge an understanding of new as well as legacy software technology applied in the digitalisation of critical and secured industry sites,
  • committed to team, project, and individual objectives at a timescale of a year, months, or days,
  • willing to work with agility, as customer-oriented actions may require quick pivoting,
  • able to travel abroad for physical interventions at customer sites,
  • attentive to back-reporting results and findings into the team.
