We work on building data assets and products to support a variety of applications which are used by 1000+ market managers, analysts, and external hotel partners. We are looking for a Software Dev Engineer III to join the Competitive Intelligence Data Engineering team in Gurgaon. Our team has built and maintains a streaming analytics system which provides rate and availability competitiveness metrics for marketing and data science teams as well as suppliers (hotel partners) impacting more than $1 billion business yearly. • Customer Engagement: Accountable for partnering with internal and external business stakeholders to provide them the ability to make decisions and gain insights through data visualization and reporting. This would include requirements gathering, iterations, visualization best-practices, design, deployment, and on- going enhancements
• Innovation: Proactively drive value with innovative solutions and delivering improved upon methods of data presentation by focusing on the business need and the business value of the solution
• Problem Solving: Lead peers and stakeholders as a SME through troubleshooting, analysis of results, Production Support, and identification of opportunities to solve Business problems
• Storytelling: Solve Business challenges by leading the translation of data, impact of that data, and be able to effectively communicate the story that the deliverable tells or the problem that the deliverable solves
• Software Development: Design, develop and implement software modules related to transforming and manipulating data

Who you are:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience data engineering
• Experience with Agile development methodology. The ability to work under pressure, to fixed deadlines and a flexible approach to working hours (when required) to meet deadlines
• Good understanding in Event-driven systems, microservices, Confluent Kafka, Data Warehousing and ETL
• Experience working with AWS services - S3, ECS, EC2, Lambda, RDS, SQS, Data-Lakes, and AWS cloud deployment models
• Working knowledge on Qubole, Apache Airflow, SQL is preferred
• Experienced in engineering data pipelines using big data technologies (Hive, Presto, Spark etc...) on large scale data sets
• Professional experience with Scala, Java or similar programming languages and experience in Maven, Dropwizard, Spring framework
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information System or related field; or equivalent related professional experience
