Software Development Engineer II (Full Stack) Team Helios is a group of dynamic engineers who develop voice-related agent tools. The latest product is Softphone which is a software phone which runs in a browser. CcaaS agents use it for taking customer calls and dialing out to tackle customer problems. It is backed by a very strong conversation platform that supports other agent tools as well. The CPCE Platform team is dedicated to driving technology innovation to create effortless customer experiences worldwide in EG apps and channels. We support over 12 thousand agents and over 65 million customer interactions a year – with a global brand portfolio and workforce! EG’s Conversation platform and customer engagement team is looking for a smart and hardworking Software Development Engineer II with experiences and skillsets that demonstrate a capability for delivering high quality solutions that meet our product needs. We are building intelligent self-service experiences in areas encompassing desktop and mobile web, phone systems, messaging platforms, digital assistants, and beyond. With your passion, technical skills, and effective communication, you will implement and affect solutions that drive customer effort down and improve customer service at Expedia. What you’ll do:

• Craft and develop scalable cloud-native full stack applications that deals in terabytes of data
• Ownership over your products, with a focus on DevOps and robust automation
• Accept change, always open to replacing what you built yesterday with something better today
• Participate, own and deliver Sprint tasks and help drive the team forward
• Collaborate with teams and individuals to complete your team assignment on time, with quality
• Test the work you're doing through unit testing implementation of sprint tasks using JUnit
• Develop client / server solutions with an emphasis on open source technologies
• Prototype ideas, execute and learn from them and enrich the overall team experience
• Collaborate with team members to co-develop and tackle problems
• Proactively work closely with peers across environment and collaborate to tackle problems
• Take advantage of opportunities to build new technical expertise in a specific engineering area
• Seek knowledge from domain specialists when needed
• Understand the importance of system and technology integration and the basic features and facilities involved in the integration process
• Develop and test standard software applications and related programs and procedures to ensure they meet design requirements
• Employ software design principles, data structures and/or design patterns and computer science fundamentals to write code that is clean, maintainable, optimized, modular with good naming conventions
• Apply knowledge of database design to solve data requirements
• Help coordinate partner input and collaboration efforts when developing solutions to issues
• Think broadly and understand how, why and when policies/processes are standardized and when they differ across the organization
• Execute tasks and/or provide data to support implementation of holistic solutions that forge linkages between structure, people, process and technology
• Apply formal training methods to current workload. You feel comfortable challenging authority/the status quo
• Report clearly on current work status. You ask meaningful questions when empowered to do so

Who you are:

• Master’s degree in a Technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
• Equivalent experience includes:
• Developing software in a team of at least 5 engineers (agile, version control, etc.)
• Building and maintaining a software project/product in production environments in public/hybrid cloud infrastructure
• Proficient with front end technologies/frameworks like React, Angular, Vue, Advanced JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SASS, LESS
• Proficient with technologies and frameworks like JAVA/C#, Node, Python, Spring, AWS technologies like Lambda, ECS, S3, EMR, DynamoDB, Cognito, IOT, Elastic Beanstalk, Step Functions, EC2, API Gateways
• Familiarity with associated technologies within your specialization as part of the wider ecosystem
• Clear understanding of developing UI as well as backend architectures
• Web services experience REST/SOAP/Microservices
• Awareness of how projects fit together within your team
• Able to understand moderately advanced systems
• Ability to test and monitor your own code
• Unit testing frameworks like JUnit, Mocha, Jasmine, Jest, QUnit
• Understanding of testing and monitoring tools
• Ability to debug applications
• Should have worked with Continuous Integration and should have used or configured such tools in the past
• Have an understanding of how teams’ goals fit a business need
• An agile proponent and scrum practitioner
