Millions of customers make purchases, thousands of vendors and partners are paid, inventory moves in and out of warehouses, commissions are calculated, and taxes are collected in hundreds of jurisdictions worldwide. The Amazon Finance Automation Technology Team is looking for a results-oriented, driven software development engineer, who can help us create the next generation of distributed, scalable financial systems. Our ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys the challenge of highly complex business contexts that are typically being defined in real-time. We need someone to lead and drive design, develop, and implementation of solutions that facilitate global financial transaction data. As a Software Development Engineer, you will get the opportunity to play a key role in owning and driving the design and development of new software services, components and features in this initiative. In addition to addressing the core functional requirements, you will add value into the system and services across several fronts like Extensibility, Scalability, Resiliency, Testability, customer experience, etc. You will get the opportunity to evaluate and use the latest elastic and serverless AWS technologies in your design. You will collaborate and create a strong relationship with your customers, peer teams and stakeholders while working on these problems. You will play an active role in reviewing the technical designs from the team and in mentoring of other developers in the team. About the team FinAuto Global Corporate Procurement (GCP) Technology owns applications and services that support sourcing and procurement operations for GCP business team. We added four new products over the past 18 month and own seven programs across seven teams. Out of 7 programs, we are responsible for 2 programs, 1. Build tech to support GCP Supplier Diversity Inclusion (SDI) goal to identity, tracks, and promotes spend with diverse and small suppliers. 2. Build in-house Transportation Management System (TMS) to initiate, execute and monitor global shipments of non-inventory goods leveraging Amazon's negotiated freight-rates and modes-of-transportation to support GCP goal to reduce transportation cost. Basic Qualifications : 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems. Programming experience with at least one software programming language. Preferred Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 3+ years of software development engineering experience. Excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills. 1+ year of experience in mentoring software engineers and influencing best practices within your team.
