As a Software Development Engineer 3 you'll be part of an agile team of industry-leading engineers upon Tesco's Transport and Tracking applications. You will be responsible for designing and developing the products we build solving problems and developing new features through quality scalable performant and maintainable technical solutions. The solutions that you and your team will be responsible for will have a global reach impacting millions of customers. Responsibilities . Be a part of an effective high-performance team that consistently delivers quality software whilst balancing time frames and needs. . Adopt best practices in software engineering: design testing version control documentation build deployment monitoring and operations. . Build flexible systems choosing simple straightforward solutions over more complex ones . Help define build and deliver quality Transport applications . Tune & enhance transport applications for performance & efficiency Technical Skills . Expertise in Java NoSQL Kafka . Microsoft Azure or equivalent Cloud platform experience . Knowledge of design patterns and engineering best practices . Experience in large scale distributed system design and engineering best practices . Experience in running and supporting software in production .
