Job Description


Title: Sr. System Software Architect, OSPO : The Open Source Program Office (OSPO) is a new team at Boeing and growing rapidly. Our mission is to champion open source engagement across the enterprise and deliver a world class open source management experience with flawless compliance. To fulfill that mission, we are looking for a Sr. Software Architect to lead our implementation efforts. This is a fully remote position with occasional travel. Position Responsibilities: Operationalizing Boeing Design Practices into implementable procedures per Boeing standards Architect multiple data solutions for processing of open source project data by the Organization in a CI/CD environment Lead a team of Software Engineers to develop and deploy applications in a software factory environment. Experience using open source repository solutions like GitLab, GitHub, Maven, and NPM. Familiarity with Automate Software Composition Analysis (SCA) through a combination of COTS, open source, and in-house tooling. Integrate with Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) tools to generate and analyze SBOMs as part of a continuous delivery pipeline Integrate with various legacy enterprise tools and data sources to automate open source and third party software management Create software tools that reduce developer overhead when incorporating open source in applications. Create a common repository for third party software and automate license and security compliance and reporting Collaborate with the Product Owner on the backlog and technical roadmap Seek out additional automation opportunities Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Passion for open source Ability to inspire, motivate, and develop teams in an inclusive environment Experience with API software development and deployment. Knowledge of SCA tools like X-Ray, Nexus, or similar Experience with operationalizing Boeing Design Practices as part of standard Boeing processes. Python development experience for client-server architectures AWS environment use and experience for application development Familiarity with standards such as SPDX and CycloneDX Experience leading development projects using DevSecOps, cloud native development, and software factories Experience with API development and creating enterprise API catalogs Comfortable with Agile and SAFe in Gitlab environment Focus on delivering value early and often Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance post-start. The U.S. government requires U.S. citizenship in order to obtain a security clearance. Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor\'s and 13+years\' experience, Master\'s degree with 12+ years\' experience. Bachelor, master or doctorate of science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Prior development experience in highly regulated industries Gitlab integration experience Typical Education & Experience: . Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor\'s and 13+years\' experience, Master\'s degree with 12+ years\' experience. Bachelor, master or doctorate of science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry Relocation: Relocation benefits, if indicated are limited to in-country moves only, and are not available for overseas relocations.
