Role SMT Engineer - Seats N Level
Function PV Engineering Sub-Function COC - Seats & Restraints

Role Objective
"1) Design & CAD Modelling of Seats and Assemblies as per engineering guidelines and checklists.
2) Evaluate data received from supplier as per engineering deliverables and decide next action plan to meet milestones.
3) Creation and Management of product data structure in PLM and ensure BOM Quality by leading the extended support team.
4) To support development of Design Standards & Carryover Strategy in line with defined Technical Policy and Technology Roadmap and engineering for the projects in line with the standards.
5) Create Technical Proposals for New Concepts & resolution of Technical Issues or Design to meet attributes.
6) Support VMTL for project deliverables as per Gen3 milestones and deliverables.
7) Work with suppliers and drive them to meet the project deliverables.
Job Specifications
Minimum education qualification BE
Minimum experience requirement 8 + Years
Working knowledge requirement "Software:- Catia V5R25 With good modelling skills and expert in best modelling practices
Knowledge: General Construction, Materials & Technologies required, Regulations, Test Standards & Requirements that have to be met, Interface with other aggregates. Six Sigma Tools (DFMEA, DFM, DFA & DFS), GD&T, EPS and the NPI Process. Cost drivers. Working knowledge of PLM Systems, MINT3, RMDVV and other internal systems
Engineering:- Completion of at least one Seat design/development project experience from styling to launch of the product is mandatory. Seats and its mechanisms component design considering Regulatory and product requirements, Expertise in foam and trim (fabric, leatheratte, leather etc for seats) manufacturing process, Good knowledge about sheet metal forming and welding process, Plastic manufacturing process (injection molding, 2K molding, Thermoforming...etc), Material selection (considering requirements, quality and cost), DV/PV validation, working level knowledge about component and vehicle level CAE to support seat development.
Regulatory requirements:- Safety Regulatory and component level certifications

Key Responsibilities
1. Contribution to planning
- Support Concept Selection by creating multiple technical concept proposals.
- Component/ sub-module DFMEA, DVP where applicable
- Support Timeline, RFQ's and SOR's creation.
2. Key actions and decisions (Long term and Short term)
- Evaluate supplier proposals and define the best engineering solutions to meet component/ sub-module PAT and QCT targets
- Participate in Engineering review related to sub-modules and take design actions as directed
- Enfore the Technical Standards and policies in Engg design
- Attribute Benchmarking
- Review engineering issues, conduct RCA and create proposals for resolution
- Creation and Management of DMLs with 100% BOM accuracy.
- DFM / DFA for the sub aggregate and GD& T for the component and sub system
- VAVE Idea Generation and support Implementation and execution of ideas
- Support Indent raising , build , followup, proto trial and validation.
- Support Supplier design review , TRSO , TDKO, Issue analysis and data collection ECN release, QRM Issues resolution , Additional varients on same platform evaluation and data generation
- Component DFMEA, DVP
- Part/ sub-module integration in vehicle/ module
3. Nature of problems faced/ Scope of improvement opportunities
- Benchmark with other OEM's for quality & cost effectiveness
- Conflicting requirements from Manufacturing feasibility, Quality, Integration & Attribute risks for sub-modules
- Changes required based on New Regulations, Customer expectations & Business environment (Quality & Cost)
- Encourage innovation and process improvement ideas and its execution to improve cycle time and quality
