We are the OCI Platform Integration team (Pint). We focus on tool development and operations of cloud lab environments. Labs are pre-prod environments and are important to Oracle product teams as they provide a place to integrate and test before production. We are growing and have an exciting roadmap of projects! We are looking for a Principal Engineer (IC4) who can contribute in these areas: ensuring normal operations in the existing labs, setting up new labs as new product lines coming in, as well as automating tools. In a typical day you could be troubleshooting and suggesting solutions, working with other teams to streamline cross product integrations and configurations, executing new configurations, coding features for our lab tooling, automating health tests and configurations executions, documenting new service integrations for our labs. It is important that you bring a solid foundation in Computer Science or related field of study. Your programming skills (Java, Python, or Shell scripting languages) are key for our automation projects. We also deal with data every day in order to understand behaviors and issues thus being proficient in SQL query languages is a true advantage.You should have some experience with multi-tiered architectures as you\xe2\x80\x99ll be expected to navigate through the different integration layers: OS Linux, Databases, Load balancers, Application server (especially Weblogic), Authentication services and networks. You should also understand basic Networking and Security concepts and industry solutions and be willing to learn more. Being customer centered, a technical problem solver, a team player and having a mindset of operational excellence are huge differentiators. You should be willing to quickly learn Oracle cloud technologies. However, earlier exposure to cloud infrastructure environments, software development framework docker, and Oracle cloud services as well as \xe2\x80\x9cInfrastructure as a code\xe2\x80\x9d tools like Ansible/Terraform are a good plus. In addition, experience with Selelium framework, understanding of API based integrations and Microservices architectures, experience with Oracle Fusion Applications, Oracle Integration Cloud Service and other Oracle SaaS services are a good plus.

A BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent. Identifies and implements complex solutions to knowledge of server hardware and software configuration, networking, standard internet services, scripting languages, cloud computing patterns, technology security and compliance. Experience running large scale customer facing web services. Identifies and implements complex solutions to understanding of load balancing technologies and experience with development in programming languages, databases and big data stores, and container technologies. Work involves defining and documenting technical architecture of complex and highly scalable products. A minimum of 8+ years experience of running large scale customer facing web services.

Design, write, and deploy software to improve the availability, scalability, and efficiency of Oracle products and services. Design and develop designs, architectures, standards, and methods for large-scale distributed systems. Facilitate service capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and system tuning. Work with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team on the shared full stack ownership of a collection of services and/or technology areas. Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production services. Responsible for the design and delivery of the mission critical stack, with focus on security, resiliency, scale, and performance. Authority for end-to-end performance and operability. Partner with development teams in defining and implementing improvements in service architecture. Articulate technical characteristics of services and technology areas and guide Development Teams to engineer and add premier capabilities to the Oracle Cloud service portfolio. Understand and communicate the scale, capacity, security, performance attributes, and requirements of the service and technology stack. Demonstrate clear understanding of automation and orchestration principles. Act as ultimate escalation point for complex or critical issues that have not yet been documented as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Utilize a deep understanding of service topology and their dependencies required to troubleshoot issues and define mitigations. Understand and explain the affect of product architecture decisions on distributed systems. Professional curiosity and a desire to a develop deep understanding of services and technologies.
